The situation - this week finally doing the job properly, break before leaving, in on time, van out and back.
And before someone from a well organised cwu area says you should of been doing it from the start. I am the only one in my office doing it and am quite frankly scared of the outcome.

So i put a well organised defence in and have been accelerated out and back, until today when the driver dropped me off late and i was left 3 hours to complete a 4 hour (pegasus timing) delivery. I phoned up and said im struggling but will try to complete and did. But obviously they have sussed what is gonna come the rest of the week (a sisable amount of mail left in the office).

The threat - on return to the office i was told they have no obligation to return me to the office it is job and knock. My car is 45 mins at the office.

Passed this up to the rep and waiting for an answer. But i would just like to say, im on my own in this at our office and have gone out on a limb to support the union in their camapign - will they support me? I wonder what the answer will be.

That’s a load of old trifle your finishing time includes travelling back to the office so if they won’t convey you back catch the bus if it takes you an hour then have an hour of your duty to get back in time for your finsih time and give then the bus receipts and get the money back.

ask your union rep what agreement was set up in your office for the walking deliveries. it may be that your office has a pouching off agreement where there would probably be around 15 mins built in to the end of the duty to allow time to walk to nearest post box or post office. if that was the case there wouldnt be an entitlement to build time into your duty to travel back to the office. there could always be the argument you had left p739 for special delivery and post office was closed when you finished, you cant pouch specials off in a post box therefor can get paid to return to office as still working.

There is pouching off in my 318 but it also says 5-10 mins return to office.

This is sort of my point, because someone somewhere said we would pouch off, i cant do my job as the union campaign, and RM can leave me 45 mins away from my transport home, is this legal?

at our office it is optional pouch off or go back to office but it was 15 mins that is allowed to do this. by the way there is also a payment for pouching off if you are out with certain distance from office.from single daily agreement.
paid where a delivery walk extends to a considerable distance from the delivery office and it is more economic or improves attendance to allow the employee to return home immediately upon competion of delivery. payable where the employee has to travel over half a mile more a day after competing duty. than he would travel if he were to book of at the office. compensation will be paid for excess distance beyond half a mile. the allowance represents payment for both travelling expenses and travelling time.
i know its not ideal mate but hopefully can help you a little

log everything , who , what , where , whom when etc so it's all down in black and white for a " rainy day " - RM can't use unfair detriment against you for legitimate union activity nor discriminate against you for valid health and safety concerns .

These offences are punishable in a Industrial Tribunal . Put grievances in , RM never ever go against their own but it proves you've made an effort to go through the channels and they can't twist things and say you're trying to cause a stir .

It might help if you accidentally on purpose switch the record function on a mobile phone or MP3 player etc with record facility if you have " words " with managers . Back them up to disc as future evidence .

RM might squeal about it but it proves how underhand they can be when they think there is no witnesses .

how come you did the 4 hour delivery in 3 hours. rm will be laughing at you. if your putting your money where your mouth is stick to your guns.. you should have gave a hand back of an hours work or more. you now have left yourself wide open to giving hand backs if you can do the 4 hour delivery in 3 hours.

if you are going to take rm on no point in doing so if your scared or doing it half cocked.
your time to travel in and out should be built into your duty ask to see your 318.

acceleration to and from your delivery are part of your duty. They must be shown on the 318.

A question to put to your rep is What other job starts a point A and finshes at point B some 45 minutes away (by car or by foot).
As you've said your transport is at point A, Are you expected to walk back to point A in your own time... I don't blooming think so

while doing your duty it is RM's responsibility to provide you with a place to go to the toilet, so if it takes 10 mins to get there and 10 mins to get back again well and good because this is part of your 3.5hr delivery and should be in your 318 for each duty.
