LCD TV's
Hi first proper post so don't know if this has been brought up before. I take it by now every office now has their new LCD tv's installed so we can have video chat's with Allan and friends. Can't wait. The figure being banded about my area is 3 grand each for these things and the equipment to run them. This is at at time when Royal Mail is claiming to have no money for a decent pay rise and cutting hours in our offices. I know of a transportation office with three people who have one and this is in the same yard as a delivery office with their own. Two tv's within 50 feet of each other. Is this really necessary. Also, these tv's are on standby 24 hours a day and as we know this consumes the same power as as if it were turned on. Hasn't allan noticed his electricity bill has gone up. Maybe this is just part of Royal Mails plan for ' Modernisation'. For me it is a complete waste of money and totally unjustifiable. I would like to know eveyones views on this matter, or even better if you have seen one working!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Just a note the new screens are plasma not lcd's which cost more to run but have better colour quality (although why we need better quality colours I don't know).
Ours only seems to show the RM screen saver (why not just turn them off), unless they have cameras in them and are recording us for future reference.
I should start a conspiracy thread (Big brother is watching YOU).
