Our DOM dismissed someone with Asthma once for poor attendance, He does not usually get it wrong! . Be of good cheer, because in this case he did!!!! it`s covered by the " disability and discrimination act " and Royal Mail ended up paying for lost monies and her job back if she wished. Being a clever Woman she took the money and said Good by!

yeah i know, its the things shes wrote that i have a problem with....she has made me sound really bad by saying i have time off sick deliberatly in line with school hols....failed to attend on a regular basis which in fact i have had 4 absences in 4 years...she stated in the notes that i had said my stepson "was a pain in the arse" which i said in a roundabout way as to why i wouldnt want to take time off during school hols...plus other things and i dont want that on my record.

Well the Sale posties on here can tell you that I am no stranger to the attendance procedure. I have had 2 stage 3's and survived them both. In fact in my 7 years I have had 32 absences and 12 warnings of one form or another, but as I am asthmatic I have been covered by the DDA for most of them. Hope thats a bit encouraging at least.

It seems to me that RM (certainly in my office) are issuing every stage when triggered, no matter what the circumstances. In the present climate of "panic cost cutting" it is more cost effective to get rid of people via the attendance procedure than it is to offer evr. JUST WATCH YOUR BACKS EVERYONE.......

Considering we are all people,
