We have been informed this morning that we will be receiving no extra payment for delivering the polling cards. I have queried this with our rep and he is going to ask around and see if any other offices have been paid.

Point your rep in the direction of the first page of this thread and the LTB and agreement in the 2nd post by me:
The only poll cards that are not paid for are those where they are individually addressed for the purpose of proxy voting which is specifically contained in the National Agreement.
So unless you have hundreds of proxy votes on your round they owe you. The proxy cards AFAIK are easy to spot as they need to be easily identifiable by the polling office staff on the day of the vote - (because the Proxy can vote twice once for themselves and once for the proxy they are voting for).

European election leaflets 3p per door

Post by mclovin »

Not bad considering, also 3p per ITEM for polling cards.

As none of us could be bothered to count each individual polling card however we have lumped it all in and split the payment equally across the office, only fair way really, even though some dutys door count is much higher than others, mine included.

3p per item for swine flu leaflets too, this time next week Rodney........

Does anyone know how many European Election leaflets we're going to have to deliver( How many Political Party's) we've been told it could be 12 or 15? As for the Polling cards we never counted them either, what the bosses done in our office was to weigh say a 100, get a weight for those and weighed anyone's Polling cards individually to get the amount. Did any other office do likewise?
Who is KyzaSoze? But to hear Kobayashi tell it, anybody could have worked for Soze. You never knew, that was his power. The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. And like that, he's gone.

Depends entirely on how many candidates there are so 12 - 15 or perhaps higher is a possibility.

We counted ours as we were putting them into the frame. Actually I counted mine in 10s and then gate counted those.

I was released from my duty today to deal with the poll cards and swine flu leaflets. I measured the height of the stack and worked it out from there. Was fairly accurate. 2.10p for the swine flu but I think they're also increased cos of the bank holiday. These are being paid through the d2d program this week even though we have seven days to deliver. Watch your payments to make sure someone else doesn't get it.

We're getting 3p for the election leaflets and mamagement are arranging payment for those and the poll cards.

We've only had the one election leaflet up to now so will be busy next week.

Actually, I telephoned the Union Area Rep directly about this issue since we've received no payment for years now on polling cards. The response was quick but definite, if the polling cards have 2nd class displayed then there is no payment for them.

Confirm or deny please, because based on the information here that is incorrect.

The agreement on election material is clear and you should recieve payments for polling cards. I would question what your AR said cause why should I get paid for them and you don't.

Not for poll cards, 3p relates to party leaflets.

Sorry not according to the National Agreement.

4) Payments

All existing local payments covering the delivery of election material as stated in paragraph 2 above will remain in place, and in accordance with this agreement, with the following exceptions.
1. The minimum payment for delivering election material will be 3p per item.
2. The maximum payment for delivering election material will be 6.6p per item.
3. All hours based schemes will be converted to pence per item schemes and then the criteria in 1 and 2 above will be applied. Where delivery offices have introduced a SDD revision since the last delivery of election material then the following formula will be applied prior to the criteria in 1 and 2 above being applied.

and to clarify again what is covered by the term "election material". http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 15&t=15941" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

2) Scope of this Agreement

This agreement covers all addressed and un-addressed free election communications marked “ELECTION COMMUNICATION” and Poll Cards (excluding Proxy Poll Cards). It replaces all previous national and / or local agreements covering the delivery of election materials and poll cards from the date of this agreement.

TrueBlue,

I do not get your point.

We have a 3p minimum and do not exceed the maximum payment with the poll cards.

The discrepancies are scandalous, having a maximum payment just leaves us wide open to exploitation. Each office should not have to fight to get a deal, it should be a flat rate for all no matter where we happen to be.

correct - what I was pointing out is that according to the agreement all "election material" should be paid at the same rate. Apparently the local rates are based on historical local agreements from the 90s (or even earlier).
