HUNDREDS of postal workers joined a May Day rally to protest about sweeping changes to the service.
The Keep The Post Public campaign took to the streets as part of the annual Leeds TUC trade unionists' gathering.
Members of the Leeds branch of the CWU Communication Workers Union, assembled at the city Art Gallery for a rally and march protesting at proposals to part-privatise Royal Mail.
Other pressure groups included Hands Off Our Homes, an organisation for affordable housing; UNISON Leeds Teaching Hospitals, and Leeds Trades Union Council for factories and manufacturing.
Guest speakers included MP John McDonnell, CWU Vice President Jane Loftus and other public sector and trade union officials.
The rally comes in a period of upheaval for the Royal Mail.
In February, the Government announced plans to part-privatise the service.
