Nottingham protest against Royal Mail privatisation

SOME 500 people marched through Nottingham's streets today protesting against Government plans to privatise Royal Mail.

The protest is organised by the Communication Workers Union as part of the Keep The Post Public campaign.

A rally will be held this afternoon at Brewhouse Yard.

Darren Glebocki, for the CWU Nottingham and District Branch, said: "We've got a very good turnout, it's a May Bank Holiday weekend - a celebration of workers and this is to highlight where the Government have got it completely wrong - to split up Royal Mail from the post office network and sell 30% of Royal mail to a private company."
