Delivery Only Jobs

If someone has been employed for more than 18 months as a Part Time (25 hours per week) post person preparing mail and then delivering it, can they then be forced into starting later and just doing what seems to be classed as a 'delivery only' job where the walk itself is 3 1/2 hours plus?. Obviously in this case the variety of the job is taken away and you just become a 'pack horse'.

The national agreement on delivery spans is 3.5 hours maximum. unless you's have a local agreement stating a longer delivery span you shoudn't be delivering anymore than 3.5 hours. see your rep.

INTRODUCING THE SINGLE DAILY DELIVERY
1. Key principles
a) A Single Daily Delivery will be introduced for all town residential routes by the end of
March 2004
b) Town Residential routes will be planned on a 3.5-hour delivery span. All routes will be
planned on the basis of equalisation, and a fair and manageable workload. The planning
process will have the full involvement of the CWU and employees.

Coming in at our DO, known as "bag-carriers" , on 20 hrs contracts starting at 9 AM.

We've had them for a while now but although they're supposed to be just 20 hours they usually end up with more hours than most FTs.

Thats exactly what my job is but on 25hrs and the only reason i am not working 30+ hours each week is because I cut off. RM don't seem to understand that if i wanted to work full time I would have got a full time job rather than apply for a part time one. I chose part time as thats all I wanted and needed, hence the reason I cut off on a regular basis. Basically its RM's fault when I can't fit the duty into the hours I work.

the 3 and half hours is walking time NOT TRAVELLING FROM THE OFFICE AND POUCHING OFF time perhaps it should say that
