I stand by much of what I say. I have another ten years to go before I retire (have a private pension) but what use is there in banging your head against the wall for a job that so many seem to feel isn't worth doing anymore. There are no end of other unskilled jobs around that have better hours than RM. Theres NOTHING to stop anyone making a go of their lives and doing something else instead of whinging about what they can do to make life harder for RM. If I was a younger man I'd definately be looking for another job but its not worth it at my time of life and I'm still fit enough to keep up with the young uns.
Mind you, we could always start our own union I suppose.....Postby Night Tonic » Sat Dec 20, 2008 1:15,amWonder if N.T has taken E.V.R could be ten years have become 3 months!
I was clearly sharp enough to look elsewhere for my pension and terms and conditions are your stint now. 37 years is than enough for me. Dying business, you'll have to come to terms with it sooner or later.
That's got to be the quickest ten years in history

Re: RM TO ANNOUNCE PAY FREEZE
Well iam not going to get involved in a slanging match between the right and left of our great work force. But just think on this for a while.......No pay rise but savings based payments. Me thinks that we are being pushed into performance based pay!!! Accept this and we will drop further down the pay scales than those poor sods in the agriculture industry. Gang masters anyone???? or should that be team leaders?

Blimey it gets even stranger 23/10/07 he's done 15 yearsI've been a trade unionist since I joined RM and before that I was in the services. I've learnt to listen to those around me even if their views differ from mine and over the years I've stood by people who I felt were victimised, not just in work but out of work too. There does seem to be a few on h...

28/11/07 he's got 10 years to go to retirement
12/12/07 he claims he was in the services and a trade unionist before joining RM
20/12/08 he's done 37 years and is coming up for retirement
And I've only looked at his first ten pages of post's(he's got 55)
Now before anyone accuses me of bullying or picking on someone, I would not normally do this to anyone, Tman post's a lot of things I disagree with but he is constant and backs up his argument(whether you agree or not) but I don't believe you can constantly post on the site and change your story time after time with out being pulled up about it

Re: RM TO ANNOUNCE PAY FREEZE
It never ceases to amaze me that :cfo can get £2 million extra in bonuses for making sure that RM makes profit, off our backs i might add, and yet we are not not allowed a pay rise, the only reason that they are going to give us the £400 is so they can justify the bonuses that :cfo and :lfo and all the top managers get, and of course not forgeting the DOMs bonuses, and as for being grateful for having a job, perhaps we should bow and tip our caps when DOMs walk past as well, i can understand pay freezes if the company is not making a profit, BUT WE ARE, even when the company was making a loss, ALLEGEDLY, we still got a pay rise, all this is, is RM jumping on a band wagon, but no pay rise also means lower running costs for RM and in so doing also makes us look more inviting for private companies to invest in, ive worked in RM for a lot of years, and had to accept s**t pay rises even when we were making millions because we had crap union reprisentation and have given a better service to the public than the two muppets at the top ever have, so NO i wont accept they cant afford a pay rise, if anybody should be glad they have a job, it should be these two :cfo :lfo .

I think we've bashed NT enough
, now we should get back to bashing RM over the lack of payrise this year.
As I've said before I'd like a shorter working week (less mail means less work means shorter working week which in real terms in a payrise). RM can't have their cake and eat it

Your right disgruntled, but I keep finding new nuggerts, to post or not to post
oh sod it
I bet you wish a lot of your other posts vanished as well
, now that's it for me, I think I've made my point, as I said before I'm not a person who would normally do this but you only have to read a few of NT posts to see his attitude to people who work for RM, that's fair enough but he should not hide behind the facade that he works in RM as a postie.

An even smaller mind than most. I have literally two years left before I retire so I'm not bothered either way but if you're dumb enough to believe that volume is going UP, then gawd help us....

I believe True Blue Terrier answered this around a week ago. It is an open forum but Postman decides what stays and what goes. I've noticed this myself - things vanish inexplicably but I've gotten used to it now.
