that's the problem , David & Goliath , problem is that these cases are classed as vexed cases which means they'll fight you every inch of the way - can be very unnecessarily obstructive and aggressive , you will need to have prosecution against RM ; i.e. to nail them , forcibly make points to stand a chance of winning on the balance of probabilities as it's your word against RM so you must have primary evidence , who , what , when etc diarised at least .

RM's Achilles heel is their arrogance , a tendency to be too judgemental acting as the police , judge , jury & executioner , one dimensional , they can be tripped up as everything is purely to impress a more senior manager on a " we all must be singing from the same hymn sheet " basis - everything has to be picked to bits , there may be conflicting stuff , stuff that's contradictory , too vague and obscure ,they lay things on too thick , sidestep things , stonewall denial will be a tactic , arrogant assumption of the moral high ground they'll twist everything and poor , poor RM will be the victim :left: , economy with the truth , manipulation of the truth or stretching it to get themselves out of the corner they insisted on backing themselves into , begging more questions than answers , lacking consistency , perverse interpretations put on matters by Senior & Area Management , poorly trained average at best managers cocking and botching things and clumsy attempts to cover for it , the underhand manner in how RM can operate , too much over-complication & politics as there's a paranoid culture of fear and a lot of corporate bullying due to the pressure from on very high , nobody is immune ! , the amount of spin and hype ,+ superficiality on Planet RM .

All that above has to be looked at - to call RM's bluff and turn the tables on them , that and more is what legal people will be looking for .

The other weakness is the very autocratic , top down style - one size fits all and their regimented approach which causes a lot of problems in the workplace , be it for staff or managers who have to make the impossible ; possible . RM only hears what it wants to hear .

Their other Achilles heel is the media , if RM are able to close ranks and sweep sh** under the carpet they will do , a friend of a friend can have a quiet word in a reporter's ear , you may get a settlement but if you do ; don't be bullied by their solicitors .

There was also the case of Mahmood Siddiqui against Royal Mail - http://www.irr.org.uk/2004/june/ak000010.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; although this had to do with racial bullying in which he was awarded £178,542 by an Employment Tribunal.

Suggest you also pay a visit to the excellent British and Irish Legal Information Institute website at http://www.bailii.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and do a search for constructive dismissal total documents found 2162. Or whilst on the website do a search for constructive dismissal under the United Kingdom Employment Appeal Tribunal link which found 1331 documents. Hope this helps and best of luck :wave

Didn't know about the BNP bit - so RM try and get rid of him and botch it completely & send him to the RM equivalent of Siberia - Doesn't surprise me in the least . Such is life in RM in Wonderland .
Anywhere else - the people responsible for this surreal farce would get the sack or " have to " resign " to persue other careers " . The Hooper report said that RM senior & area management do not have the expertise to run a postal operation . :Very Happy

RM have enough idiots in charge that act as superb recruiting sergeants for that vile party thanks to their corrupt & abused B&H policy .

Obviously you have to take " The Patriot " with a large pinch of salt , but I can imagine the Union looking for him .
