DX local collection at the Post Office

IVER, England, April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- DX Group (DX) today announced they have agreed a deal to access the Post Office network to provide a local collection facility for undeliverable mail.

Under the service, Post Office(R) Collect, DX will take mail that could not be delivered first time, because no-one was at home to sign for the item, to a local Post Office branch. Customers can then collect the item at their convenience.

"This access will enable our clients to offer their customers a truly exceptional service with unrivalled secure delivery by DX, enhanced with a local collection option for the time when customers are not in to take delivery of their mail," commented John Coghlan, Chief Executive Officer at DX. "Reaching this agreement with Royal Mail Group is a demonstration of our commitment to innovation and development designed around our customers' needs."

DX are the first private mail company to reach an agreement to access Post Offices in this way. Trials for the DX collection service will commence in May with the full nationwide launch expected in Summer 2009.

Knowing this company, probably not, they'll probably pay DX to do it for them. Kinda like a Post Office DSA. God, Al and Adam would be proud of that idea! Maybe I should tell Adam...

Does this mean that the undeliverable DSA now has to go back to the PO to be returned to DX rather than putting it through the RM system.

DX don't get involved in direct mail DSA (correct me if I'm wrong). They are more into Secure Mail Services such as passports. Until now if they tried delivering your passport and you were out you'd have to try and find one of their local depots to pick it up or they'd try and deliver it again. With the PO service customers can pick it up more easily.

It's hard to keep up with the DSA companies DX is used by solicitors to transport their mail around (they have their own address code like DX 1123445).

Nope they don't do DSA anything to far out for them to deliver just gets a second class stamp stuck on it, thats how most of the DX stuff comes through our office, for the rurals .
