Mr Linwood's case should be used as an example to stop other posties from being unfairly dismissed for sick leave that include accidents at work. To include incidents at work as being sick is unreasonable and it is about time this is dealt with properly and union reps should highlight such cases to the manager and the appeals panel before they decide to dismiss any postie. The thing is, it is usually the employment lawyer that manages to hightlight such cases during the employment tribunal, if union reps could use case law more successfully this would put RM in their place.

I haven't noticed a rise in the amount of D2D returns recently (The Walk Bundling Centre is in the same building). Although, it's not at all unusual for us to get a lot returned anyway (20+ Yorks, regularly). Still, you might be having more problems down South.

We have to give the excess D2D's to the LM to count now as apparently we were returning to many to the bundling centre and they think we are ripping off the customer as according to them they send out the correct amount

Sometimes whole unopend boxes can be found sitting in the york for surplus door to doors!!!!!!

Yes, you're right there. It always amazes me, how much gets returned, without anything being done about it. If there aren't enough Staff to deliver it all, they should get some more!

This has gone on for years, and nothing seems to be done about it. I know that the Customers don't exactly look forward to recieving it. But the Customers paid for it to be delivered, and there should be enough Staff available to do so. But as we all know, there never is!

I find that the D2D bundles are not counted correctly, if there is supposed to be 500 it could be anything from 480 to 520 , I think the difference is down to the weight (1/4 of a gramme over 500 can add up).

As for the boxes left over are you sure they are not just filled with odds that are left and are just put back into a box for ease (it happens in my office because whenever anyones short they go hunting through the boxes to see if there are any spare).

My DOM got off with WILLFUL delay and it makes me mad!!! Customer complaints were never investigated all 2 of them!! Just brushed under the carpet

All our D2Ds come to our office with labels attached to them so any full boxes/bundles that are to be returned would have the duty number on them so it would easy to find out what ones are not being delivered and appropriate action taken against those who fail.

The majority that I see, have been opened. But there are still a lot of unopened ones. Although it does vary from day to day (I'd be surprised if it didn't).

Sorry for not being clear but you talk about negativity bothering you and about 50% or so of your posts are negative moaning or groaning thats all, not that thats bad about 90% of mine are negative if not more. I found it funny you should talk to another member about being negative bothering you when you are youself are doing it. I too think my REPS are brill and infact most are, but i am enough of a realist to see the damage some REPS can do to members lives and getting these things aired will go along way to sorting out problems that seem to occur far too often, and if you look around RMC their hardly seems to be a thread without someone have a ding dong about a REP be they local or national screwing something up and that just aint good enough. Just keeping on smiling and ignoring the bad does not make it go away in fact i would say it makes it worse because the resentment just builds up and the membership levels fall. As has been said many times before our REPS need more "good" agreements and guidence from the top coupled with better education for our REPS and far better communication from HQ.

Ah, get you now. Fair point. Not sure whether the greater social media (TV etc) is having an impact on me or if it's life in general with regard the negativity.

Maybe I'm naive, but I always have faith that the Union will come good. Even 'doubious' agreement from National level usually end up good at local level.

It's not compulsary, to remain anonymous. But it is everyone's RIGHT to remain anonymous, if they choose to. There were several cases in '07 of people being disciplined for comments they made on here. I myself, was once threatened with disciplinary action, if I didn't remove a Thread in which I gave details of a case against a Manager. Because they classed it as B&H, shaming him in that way (I only posted it, to warn people what can happen. And to get some messages of support for the victim ). Even though I didn't use any names, or mention where it happened (it was a high profile case).

Quite a few people (including 2 Managers) know my real identity. But I still don't advertise it, as you never know who may be "lurking". Just sticking to the facts, isn't always enough to keep you out of trouble.

Oh yes! sorry for your past troubles & thanks very much for advice. Where I am based the managers, would definitely know its me if I started talking about their misdemeanors. Having said that they arent all totally useless.
