TRIBUTE has been paid to a Borehamwood grandmother who died last Thursday.
Eileen Beer, 84, worked for more than 20 years at the Leeming Road post office and was a regular church-goer at St Michael’s & All Angels Church, in Gateshead Road, Borheamwood. She died after suffering with ill health.
She was married to her husband Charlie Beer for 58 years. Mrs Beer lost her grandson Borehamwood hairdresser Phil Beer in the London 7/7 bombings in 2005.
Daughter Sarah Pyatt said: “She worked at the post office where everyone knew her. She was a well respected lady around Borehamwood.
“All the customers would say it was a pleasure to see her.
"Everyone loved her from the young to all the old people who would collect their pensions. We will miss her as she was a wonderful woman.”
Mrs Beer leaves four children, Steve, Robert, Phil and Sarah, and ten grandchildren.
Her funeral will take place at St Michael’s & All Angels Church on Monday at 12.30pm.
Her family has requested for any donations to be made to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital in her memory.
