Re: £400 pro rata in june?

If and when any bonus is paid,a proper survey should be done on just how many offices either hit budget or came in under budget,Then these offices should be looked at to see how come they can hit target and others not, willall offices be Equal.

Have no idea if we our office will hit target, never yet and with Pegus last year,DOM put figures up for budget, every week through out year and then first 2 weeks of Pegus.THen stopped, but then he ran into problems, just the 2nd week we were some thing stupid like £25k over budget in 1 week, and they were official figures, not including, all the managers shipped in ,the compensation payments to customers or the Dumped mail ,that could not be traced back as they had so many casuasals in they had no idea who was doing what or when.
but Pegus does work according to RM.

We shouldn't get carried away with if any office has made the "target" because we have no idea how the "savings" are calculated, have no input on how savings can be achieved and no idea if all or indeed any savings are included in any calculations so just bring on the compost and pile it high.

Who really cares about a 'bonus' that can be created or destroyed by the management, what I want is a rise in the basic pay (or a reduction in the working week) plus I'd like to see OT payments being improved (and the PT's getting the full OT rate as soon as the go over their contracted hours not the current scheme that means that before any PT who does OT must work 40 hours before they get the increased rate).

I disagree with increasing the overtime rate if it means there's less money available to put into a bigger increase in basic pay. Given that we'll all be subject to a maximum 48-hour week before long, there's little sense in diverting money into hourage that
a) isn't guaranteed
b) will be capped at 8hrs max soon, and
c) isn't available at all in some offices

I do think, though, that overtime rate should be paid to part-timers as soon as they go over their time. That's the whole essence of the word 'overtime', surely ??? :hmmmm

You've got to think in the long term, this would stop RM from bringing people on with 1 - 20 hour contracts and then just paying them OT to make their wages up to FT (without the holiday pay and sick pay), it would make RM more inclined to give out more FT contracts (because it's cheaper than paying out 1 1/3 or 1 1/2 every hour they are over).

Bonus

Post by gerardy »

Hi in my office we had no union rep for a while so no'one was involved in the resources meetings, as a result there was no figures put on the board about 50:50 share scheme for the savings made in the office through lapsed duties and using part-timers to cover full-time posts.
Nothing new there but since our managers keep telling us we are one off, if not the best run office in the area I was shocked to say the least when I was informed this morning that the office was £52000 over budget and we were not getting any bonuses.
How do we challenge this, and what does the union say about this as aparently very few places are getting the bonus.
How are so many not getting anything and yet the business is doing so well.

The bonus you're not getting is the 50/50 and the local bonus, the national bonus is a seperate thing (£200) and as Belial meant to say 'If you believe the management then that's really  ' NEVER believe anything a manager tells you :Very Happy .
