Im doing some one day next week on my week off. Theres about 8 sets of d2ds and it will take me about 3 hours and earn me about 130 quid. Doesn't sound that dumb to me or am I missing something?
Just pray you dont have an accident as it wont be classed as an accident at work, therefore there attitude would be "tough titty" to any time off you may need.I know it sounds far fetched, but the amount of people doing this sort of thing the odds are it will happen to one of them.
You could fall over and break your neck walking to the shops, so what should anyone do in their spare time, sit in a tomb?
Hi brother look forward to YOU crossing our picket line! LOL.

Bit presumptuous, I would never cross a picket line and was out in the last two strikes with everyone else.
I only answered a guy who couldn't understand as to why someone would do d2d in their spare time. How is doing some d2d that have built up on a walk over a number of weeks, stepping on anybody's toes?

How exactly do they 'build up'? I'm just curious. We get given ours on a monday, and they are all done by friday. If they weren't, the manager would want to know why!

Well regular postie off for a couple of weeks duty covered by DOM or Lino's mate doesn't fancy doing them so they get left, DOM sticks d2d's on top of frame person covering claims not to have noticed, had both happen to me more than once.

Of course its presumptuous! I judge things as i see em as we all do and someone that pokes their toes over the line cant moan when toes get crushed. If you want to do work in your own time at your mates expense because your Sisters and Brothers cant do it because they have too much worked heaped on to them on a normal day them then good luck to you enjoy, because Royal Mail sure as sh*t do! For the rest of the normal people please dont do it because you aint insured you get sh*t money thats not paid in to your pension and RM LOVE those that BEND over backwards and frankly it speaks volumes for your character. Just do your job properly no more no less! Book O/T if you wish but dont prostitute youself!

omg mate, you got serious issues going on if you think like this. I think you read das kapital and took it a bit too literally.

I may be a bit confused here but as I understood it if the D2Ds had missed the delivery window then they shouldn't be delivered and should be returned as undelivered. Some people have got into trouble for claiming for OOD D2Ds.

That's what I thought, unless it's a local D2D and a local agreement to extend but by only a day or 2 not by weeks (happened last week because of the shorter week and the D2Ds where extra large and where a weight issue).

Makes sense,it could be a pizza menu special offer,a sale at a certain furniture store etc, which isn't much good if its gone over the date :d'oh!

That is precisely the reasoning behind it - some places will only man a given phone number for a certain length of time - poor management if you ask me.

Yep all surplus returned after end of delivery period.Whats more curious is that payments are dated, coded and item specific :hmmmm

Apparently it's "just his sick sense of humour" and if he chucks in a few LOLs and   you'll accept it as that.
Think your assessment was more acurate.
Oh you still here then?  . LOL.LOL.
Ignore,his post was edited.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Exactly! there's no way they should 'build up'.

It might just be my office, but they are s**t hot re door to doors. They count any surplus you have at the end of the week, which makes you para (did I miss that house on the end??) Sometimes I think they deliberately give you too many, so you should have some left at the end of the week, and if you don't, that would make then suspicious (did you just bin them all?).
