Attempts to set up a website to smear Tory politicians led to one New Labour spin doctor resigning last week and a fresh crisis for Gordon Brown.

Hidden away in the scandal are questions of the role played by figures in the Unite union.

Senior Brown advisor Damian McBride resigned after he sent emails outlining plans to fake stories for a New Labour-supporting website – to be called Red Rag – to “destabilise” the Tories.

There has been some attempt to suggest these were “unauthorised actions” initiated by rogue bloggers. But those involved are key Labour figures.

The recipients of the emails were Derek Draper, Charlie Whelan and Andrew Dodgson.

Draper is former aide to Lord Mandelson and in charge of Labour’s internet strategy. He runs the LabourList website.

LabourList was launched at Labour Party headquarters with funding provided by Unite’s political fund.

Charlie Whelan – a former Gordon Brown spin-doctor – is now the political director of Unite. His precise duties are unclear, but Whelan controls a large budget and staff.

Andrew Dodgson is a press officer for Unite, and the emails suggest that he was to run the site.

Unite members facing ruthless employers, pay cuts and redundancies may wonder why their money is being spent on this farce.

UNITE have already smeared each other - e.g. a rival leadership candidate "suddenly" ends up in the Sieg Heil on Sunday for staying in a posh hotel and running up a big expenses bill .Union Politics are even worse than national politics .

Quite a nasty business with UNISON 's left v New Labour sections --illegal New Labour Funding , senior figures being elected as MP's , others with ambitions - Yanus Bakish drummed out of work and the union on H&B charges , stuff on Stormfront , dodgy Facebook groups .

Dolly is famous for legal action against skeptical scientists doubting his credentials and there's a lot of libel lawyers looking for work in Libel Paradise , UK ; and he just happens to have a new book out . On the Dolly web site it says Dolly has a MA in clinical psychology and spent 3 yrs training to be a psychotherapist in Berkeley California - nothing to do with the university

There's no medical research published in peer reviewed journals , no training or study at Hospitals ,though he did get a magazine journalist of the year award from the magazine he's a columnist for

A science blogger doubting Dolly's credentials was told to correct his post by midday or he would go to his lawyers Schillings . Medialand's favourite shrink also squared up to a Sindy journalist as Dolly hadn't liked what he had wrote .

Gormless Gordon's Minister former Union fixer " Two Dinners Tommy " Watson is up to his bulging fat neck in this . Two Dinners Tommy was suspected of being behind " Currygate ' to get rid of his Toniness . The next day he went up to Scotland to hand Gormless Gordon's son a teddy bear and "coincidentally" later put his name to a letter asking B-Liar to go .

I think the Bible Waving . Mc Bride is no independent civil servant , just a New Liebour Propagandist - should be working for RM - we're daft enough to pay him a six figure salary though

this is a masterpiece - I've read some absolute patronizing sh**te from the RM Kremlin and in The Pravda or The Courier , but this is even better - it's hilarious
