Well of course it's that simple :d'oh! , nothing to do with a bullying , confrontational , arrogant & 70's command & control - bloody minded senior & area management of course . Nothing to do with hare brained panic stricken , money saving " ideas " that are badly thought out & ill conceived which for some strange reason don't work . :d'oh!

Nothing to do - apparently with RM's press office , surely not :Very Happy - Independent :Very Happy

Mind you he posted a parcel once so IMO that Pub Bore knows what he's talking about - A Colonel Blimp in a 80's time warp - " Damm you for your impudence - How dare you all not roll over and die for our Boardroom Bullies "who lack the expertise to run a Postal Operation !", A glorified p*** poor blog , fifth rate pseudo " journalism " . Can I be like Richard Littlejohn or Gary Bushell ? , when I grow up ? Sir !

The Australian " Dog Whistle " effect , obviously the CWU are the new pikies :Very Happy

I note Lord Clarke's somewhat deluded suggestion in the Lords recently that postal workers and management could work in harmony to ressurect Royal Mail's fortunes.

Lord Clarke has been accused on more than one occasion of living in the past, but whatever period in history he was referring to does not relate to 2009. With CWU members being balloted for further industrial action over changes to duties, job losses and allegations of bullying, all at various locations in the country, this doesn't support the idea of a partnership between the trade union and RM bosses. Then for the real icing on the cake, the union now wants union members to resist any further revisions or changes in the workplace.

Wasn't this the same union whose leader said "we are up for change"?

With the country plunged into a difficult recession and job losses every week, voting for industrial action and/or trying to limit the company's ability to make headway is, to borrow a cliche, "like turkeys voting for Christmas." It also makes Lord Clarke's concept of a future for the Royal Mail look like something he'd found on a strip of paper inside a festive cracker.

Most economists are of the view that with the amount of borrowing going on just to stop the country from collapsing, it will take every single one of us, working like crazy to dig us out of this mess and here we have a union that rather than rolling up its sleeves to ensure more jobs are retained, seems to have adopted the Scargill approach.

Theres one word here. Dole.

Yes its damned tough accepting that the job can't be done the same way any more, but there isn't a postal service in the world that isn't scratching around for work right now and the public won't tolerate this continual 1970s unionite pig-headeness. Sell off Royal Mail and lets see what its like the TNT way. It just has to be better than this.

Yes we're in the realms of a myth that mail volumes are seriously low and there is no work! When we all know its the opposite.

No, you must be from the old PHG grade before you need the ability to tell the time.
