Buy down query

Just had an interesting question from someone who bought down and as I don't know the answer, come to the people on here who are very knowledgeable. The question he asked was as he was now on half pay and his wage slips showed that could he now claim rent allowance? Must admit I don't have a clue as to the answer, because I just presumed that people would take his savings into account and that would prevent him from getting any allowance. However don't want to give the wrong answer, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

:nana All factors haveto be taken in to account before housing benefit is awarded for example the number of children he has,the actual amount of his half wages,any other incomeetc.
