Convenor at Occupied Visteon Plant Faces Jail Threat

Post by Yahoorsur »

'Kevin Nolan, convenor at the occupied Visteon plant at Enfield, North London, will be in the High Court on Monday at 10:30am.

He faces charges of defying a court order to quit the plant. Clearly this is a major attack on a crucial focus of resistance.
Anyone who can should be outside the Royal Courts of Justice in the Strand at 9:45am on Monday. Kevin and the workers in the occupation have asked for as many people to come down as possible.

Reports are available on the Socialist Worker website, and you can also download the leaflet
Do a collection at work for the occupation (a collection sheet is available here)

If the New Order tried that in France most of their factories would be occupied and there would be civil disobedience on a scale that would make the poll tax riots look like one of Bettys garden parties :hmmmm or Greece;Spain;Italy;Belgium :hmmmm

Please note change of plan!

Enfield Visteon convenor is refusing to go to the High Court tomorrow
(Monday)morning 6 April as instructed.

He will be staying in the factory, and expects to be arrested. He is asking
supporters to be there at 9.30am.

The Enfield Visteon plant is in Morson Road. The nearest public transport is
Ponders End station.

I can't understand why they've went after the Enfield plant whenever the Belfast plant was the first occupied.

Probably safer for the bailiffs.
The Belfast factory is in Gerry Adams' constituency. :nervous
And he has been to the factory to support the occupation, unlike
the (Conservative) MP for Enfield.

They would just send in the police but you're probably right.
