I dinnae see how those north of the border can have a Bank Holiday. Bank of Scotland merged with the Halifax to form HBOS, which is now part of Lloyds Banking Group, which is owned by ... UK taxpayers. As is Royal Bank of Scotland.

No banks = no bank holidays, surely ?

Get back to work

(joking)
The Clydesdale Bank might have been founded a long time ago and still print it's own banknotes ( like the goernment owned Bank of Scotland and Royal Bank of Scotland ) but it is now a subsidiary of the National Australian Bank (NAB) Group.

Let me guess, you're a reserve / unit bitch - takes one to know one. Was Christmas day & New Year's day your day off ( even though for weeks previously, you always got Tuesday off )? The only time I've had a Saturday off in the last few months has been during A/L!
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

The good news, I always like to look on the positive side, is that you will be owed 1 day for each PH that is your rostered day off.

I never understand why this happens to you guys,i mean,i guess you're allocated a duty, then they can't just change the rest days to suit them.

Can't speak for others, but I'm lumbered with whatever needs covering on a week by week basis ( unless the sh*t hits the fan ) - on a normal week, I always get Tuesday off ( lightest day, easiest to cover I guess ), until my AL a couple of weeks ago, I realised I hadn't had a Saturday off since Christmas & it's just starting to grind my gears. Some duties I have to cover have a rotating day off & some have a rotating week off.

Yep happened to me as well, i kicked up a fuss about being given Good Friday as day off ( day off for walk i was on all week was weds ) and got it changed grudgingly.... and they have put next weeks day off as easter Monday ( i should be off on the Friday as per the walk i am covering ) :evil/mad but i have a cunning plan to get round their $hitty tactics....muhahahahaha

Put in a grievance form on Tuesday, it may not do any good this time around but they may benefit in the future.

This day of moving thing was mentioned in another thread and someone asked me if there is an agreement on whether managers are allowed to do it willy nily.
Cant rem the thread at the mo.

The thing is i am unsure whether there is any agreement on this, but surely when a duty is made up and signed for because someone else ie a reserve is going on it surely they just can't change the fecking day off!!

For instance reserves sometimes take duties because of their specific day off that week.
This is total bollox what managers are doing.

Your right, the reserve list should still have some form of seniority,as such
you should be able to choose what duty you want do next week, however
this seems to of gone out the window in most places, and as has been
pointed out ,not only do they decided who's doing what they also decide
what day off best suits them!
