And if monthly pay did happen ,RM would look on it as a big fat opportunity. Old Sid would get shafted ;fleeced;done over month after month.
Ask yourself just one question, When was the last change proposed by RM that improved your working life? :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle :nana :nana

Is it the case that information is fed down through the 'chain of command' etc before it hits the public domain on the CWU website, thereby causing delays? If CWU HQ has not learnt the lesson that up-to-date information and communication is the key to keeping members onboard by now, it never will!

I feel sure that Div/Area Reps and Branches would much prefer the information reach members quicker and not have their time wasted by endless streams of texts and emails from members enquiring about issues affecting them. If there is no news, fine ... but at least tell everyone and not leave them in limbo for weeks on end!

We can all appreciate that the discussions taking place over pay, terms + conditions, pensions, privatization and the modernization (cost-cutting?) programme are complex, and will not provide immediate solutions for members to ballot on. It is not a race to get to the finishing-line as soon as possible. There is no loss of face etc incurred in announcing policy, statements and claims ahead of any meetings with RM. If you can go to meetings with RM having a positive groundswell of member opinion on your side, that makes your position that little bit stronger when it comes to negotiation. Yes, there will be times when discussion of issues will need to take place behind closed doors, but that should be the exception, and not the norm.

At the end of the day, it is members who feel informed and respected that make the final decision in the ballot box. The CWU hierarchy will do well to remember that over the coming months, for the sake of all who are employed within RM in whatever capacity.
Well said :Applause :Applause :Applause

What's wrong with CWU HQ ? Have they embraced the 21st Century at all ??

LTB's are too slow being issued, and we live in an era where people expect their news as soon as it happens, and published on the internet. Otherwise, what's the point of the CWU having an internet site ? It would be as daft as Tesco having an internet grocery site that only gave people a phone number to call, and no online shopping facility !

Updates MUST be published on the CWU site immediately so that we know as much as our reps do, as soon as they do. Otherwise people like me will suspect that rank-and-file members are starved of information solely to give workplace reps 'exclusive' knowledge, thus keeping (and 'justifying') a heirarchy of reps, appearing to look after their own interests first, and ours a very poor second. :shhhhh
