Royal Mail has appointed Manheim Auctions, Saltash as one of its regional defleet auction centres. The Saltash centre will cover the South West of England. The decision was made after a trial of the defleet process culminating in a successful auction programme.
Manheim’s Saltash auction centre will arrange the collection of vans directly from Royal Mail locations across the South West of England. The vans are then inspected by Royal Mail’s team of dedicated end-of-contract inspectors at Saltash after which they are prepared, marketed and entered into the next Royal Mail auction.
Annessa Lehane, Royal Mail’s National Vehicle Sales Manager said: “Manheim has demonstrated its commitment to the commercial vehicle market and its ability and flexibility to meet Royal Mail’s requirements. This additional regional defleet centre will result in a more efficient defleet management operation plus both organisations will benefit from a new Royal Mail auction programme at Saltash.”
Meanwhile, Alex Wright, Sales Director, Commercial Vehicles, Manheim Auctions, added: “I am delighted that we are again able to work in partnership with Royal Mail and assist with its national defleet strategy. Manheim has conducted successful auctions for Royal Mail for many years and the appointment of Manheim Auctions, Saltash as a regional defleet centre further strengthens our relationship. Saltash now joins other Manheim commercial vehicle auction centres at Colchester, Gloucester, Haydock and Washington in delivering this specific defleet service.”

I'm surprised anyone would want to buy some of our vans, they are like mobile skips and most of them don't have a single panel on them that is'nt damaged.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
Illegitimi non carborundum
