I'm second class to my postie lover

Dear Miriam,

I'm a married woman having an affair with a married man. He's my postman. We've been seeing each other for two years. At the start everything was great but, for the past few months, he's been making lame excuses about why he can't see me.

He admits he's been neglecting me but says he has to be careful as his wife's getting suspicious. I told him I want to be treated better but it hasn't happened.

Each time I try to break off the relationship he begs me to reconsider and I give in. My husband hasn't a clue I'm being unfaithful and is happy with our relationship. What should I do?

Belinda

Dear Belinda,

Your lusty postman may love you but he's not going to commit himself to you. You love him but know there's no future in it.

You have two choices - ending your marriage or ending your affair and improving your marriage. Think long and hard about what would happen if your husband found out.

An affair might be a release from the drudgery of daily life but it's just a quick fix. Maybe if you put as much effort into your marriage as you're probably putting into hiding the affair, things would improve? Grit your teeth and return your postman back to his wife.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

So what happens if his duty gets lapsed?

Are the covering Posties supposed to shag her?

And what happens if you require overtime or do you just cut off part way through?
