We went on strike and lost a lot of money and never voted for this agreement.Who did vote for this, the more I hear and see in action this agreement,I BELEIVE THE SENEIOR LEADERSHIP OF THE CWU have some explaining today,do they ever visit your office ?
certainly not mine !
This agrreement looks like RM can do almost anything with our start time and finnish times, and workload, and getting people to work for the company on short term.longterm contracts likle 1 hour a week -- its good to know the CWU LEADERSHIP care about our welfare.
I feel sorry for local reps trying to deal with management when the leadership is not on their side.
Think its about time a mass visit to branches was done to gauge peoples fealings or do the leadership know what is good for us even if we disagree with it !

The wording on the ballot was intended too cause confusion and now we will come to regret that our fight was curtailed by those at the top of the union!. As i said after the ballot this deal will shatter our union into a thousand pieces with a thousand different agreements in every office in the land!.

But thats the key word different.Every office across the country is Different, what may be good for your office could be bad for mine.Yes we do need a National agreement as Pay And Mod is,but its down to the local office to work around the national agreement and get the best local deal for there office that suits its members.k979aaa wrote:The wording on the ballot was intended too cause confusion and now we will come to regret that our fight was curtailed by those at the top of the union!. Divide and Conquer.... one of the most effective battle strategies in the world and used by the RM bosses to great effect. R.I.P workers union. When that last deal went through the ability to deal with any new RM policies went right out the window
United we stand.... divided we fall and we are falling fast
I still cant understand how after 6 months of strikes the union agreed to exactly what the bosses wanted in the first place

Union what Union? Do we have a union?

Re: WAYFORD AGREEMENT-VEIWS
But in fact in most offices it suits the management and one office being played off by another with a bent rep or a week union!. We need national solutions for a national problem ROYALMAIL and its BOARD OF DIRECTORS :cfo & :lfo and THE UK GOVERNMENT!. :mfojohnnyp wrote:But thats the key word different.Every office across the country is Different, what may be good for your office could be bad for mine.Yes we do need a National agreement as Pay And Mod is,but its down to the local office to work around the national agreement and get the best local deal for there office that suits its members.k979aaa wrote:The wording on the ballot was intended too cause confusion and now we will come to regret that our fight was curtailed by those at the top of the union!. I wouldn't want to see it any worse than this -and it certainly was a defeat snatched from the jaws of victory. RM are really running wild now and things can only get worse - and to cap it all Mandelson is waiting in the wings with a third party investor.

Re: WAYFORD AGREEMENT-VEIWS
I Dont think it is old news or opening old wounds, unsure of the xact details but ,changes are being brought into our office now ,our CWU says he has to accept, and our guy is Sh-t hot on every thing and destined to go far in the CWU .The proposed changes long and shorts are unwelcome by the office, and we did not go on strike for this agreement ,yet being told we have no choice but to accept it right now as its a national agreement!
Seeing the London agreement gives heart to knowtheir is some life left in parts of the CWU ,but once again the top leadership have lost their voice.
Hopefully the London agreement will be nationwide, especialy withincreased size walks and 2 ment and a van nonsense.

Re: WAYFORD AGREEMENT-VEIWS
Ahhh then you are talking about the Pay and Modernisation Agreement of 2007 - The Way Forward was from 2000. At least thats what appears to have caused the confusion.
