Re: turning the screw
just a bit of an update as to whats going on at our gaff. wtl session on tues we was told (to our anger and dismay) that we, from the summer, going to be working 3 to a van. then later, managers were asking people to take the changeover. not many people interested as you can imagine, then the bullying tactics. one line manager was going round to people telling them that if they did not do the changeover then they will have to be removed from thier dutys that they have signed for and do something else. (does anyone know if this is legal btw????) union are so weak, didnt really want to know although he did confront manager. things are really bad now, very near to boiling point. so many down trodden workers feeling pressured and worthless.

It's probably best to post the HYS details to one of the mods to let them see if it's OK to post them and to cover yourself.Grantyboy wrote:just a bit of an update as to whats going on at our gaff. wtl session on tues we was told (to our anger and dismay) that we, from the summer, going to be working 3 to a van. then later, managers were asking people to take the changeover. not many people interested as you can imagine, then the bullying tactics. one line manager was going round to people telling them that if they did not do the changeover then they will have to be removed from thier dutys that they have signed for and do something else. It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Which is why I said to post them to a mod just to cover yourself.POSTMAN wrote:If it's going to have names and places or could id the twat, then no it can't go on,sorry.disgruntledpostie1 wrote:It's probably best to post the HYS details to one of the mods to let them see if it's OK to post them and to cover yourself.Grantyboy wrote:just a bit of an update as to whats going on at our gaff. wtl session on tues we was told (to our anger and dismay) that we, from the summer, going to be working 3 to a van. then later, managers were asking people to take the changeover. not many people interested as you can imagine, then the bullying tactics. one line manager was going round to people telling them that if they did not do the changeover then they will have to be removed from thier dutys that they have signed for and do something else. I couldn't post the ones from my office because it would clearly identify the manager.............................come to think about it, it would just identify him as a twat so it could be almost any DOM from anywhere in the country

Re: turning the screw
Are our managers being bullied into bullying us are are they just out to make themselves a nice bonus and get up the ladder?
I'm not sure.I thought our manager was being pressured but i'm sure its a bit of both now.
When they've been off the walks for a few years they forget what its really like.Always looking in the past and thinking we are still in 1990's when we only did about 5 hours actual graft.
I understand the need for profits and us working hard but they are just going mad and completely going about things the wrong way.I'm sure it will end in tears one way or another.
I really don't feel secure in the job anymore.

U talk about profits.... any other company would sit down, get thinking, and think about creating new products or services to boost the money coming in, but the bigwigs at royal mail think a great way to make profit is to cut jobs and services back to the bare bones, i mean, why sit down and get the thinking caps on when u can make money by cutting jobs and services. royal mail are on a slippery slope, once the job has been cut til it cant be cut no more and the service is so poor, theres n oturning back, we would have lost any respect we had from the public and businesses and we will all be taking out 3 walks on our own.
with all these plans of cutting another 20% of dutys, when is it gonna occur to upper management that to save more money, why not sack a couple of managers, surely 1 manager gone would equal 2 postmen??? i just hope that they r next, they r marching round the office, barking orderrs like they r untouchable. i cant wait......

If it was a heated argument then both sides must have been doing the same amount of shouting. You cannot be sacked for having an opinion. Only for being too aggressive with it. You can always argue your case. Just dont do anything that will give a lino. half a chance to conduct you.andy2007 wrote:Be careful not to loose your temper too. Over the last 6 Months, we've had two people conducted for having heated arguments. One got a 2 year serious (later reduced to 1 year on appeal). The other is still going through the Conduct procedure. be careful out there!IPS wrote:Same here, Managers that turned a blind eye to little things are now using the conduct code to get rid of staff. Problem is, newer staff that never knew they were doing anything wrong are losing their jobs just to add more gold stars for the Managers (sic). They are backing up each other's allegations and looking after just themselves.
I personally know of 3 staff that have been sacked for pathetic reasons in the last few weeks.
SACK THE MANAGERS!
Royal Mail is personally one of the reasons I will never become an organ donor. Just in case the 0.00000001% chance it may go to a lino
Like you said IPS: They seem to be looking for excuses at the moment.
