Very busy yesterday. Today was about the same, but with a slightly longer day attendance wise. Plenty of DFS stuff all week. Sun has been out again.

Not as many DFS/Council tax stuff in the kill offs but I'm wondering where Virgin got their database details from cos it couldn't have been from RM given the addresses they were trying to send them to!!

Then 8 minutes after we'd closed the phone was ringing and ringing... I thought "I'd better answer it even though I'm in the middle of the dispatch and knee deep in specials cos it might be one of the drivers somewhere". So I answered it and it was just someone telling me they had a letter posted to them (normal post) and it hadn't arrived. Told her unless it was tracked I can't find out where it is.

Then she starts waffling on about problems with her mail etc and I just had to tell her to call back in the morning cos I was in the middle of the dispatch and that the people in the morning would be able to speak to the postie there and then.

Busy day, although not as bad as usual for a Friday. Loads of DSA and packets. The sun was shining which makes for a perfect start to my weekend off.
Will be down to the Lrgh Arms tonight to stop a few going off. Then out with a few of the lads tomorrow for a few more and a Chinese down China Town. Yippee! :chuckle

A week off for me now - first for nearly six months. Got some paint to strip of the walls, few bits to do on my car, get my bike on the road & legal........and if it stays warm and sunny exactly how much decorating do you think I will be doing? Especially with a road legal bike? :whistle :nana

Then I get chased by a dog on my last bag lucky it didn't manage to get me but rest of street didn't get their mail. Found out off neighbour higher up who it belongs to so I'll sort it Monday.

I've had a really shitty day

Got in at 9am, s**t had already hit the fan with numerous duties not covered and I was asked to do the missorts which is on someone else's duty. This meant not doing my work cos the missorts take priority.

The enquiry office bell kept ringing the moment after I left the office, I eventually had a stack of surcharge and P739 cards to write in the relevant books as collected. I had several people kicking off about the surcharge fee including one guy saying that our mission statement guaranteeing value for money isn't being adhered to etc etc  I asked him for the 4th time if he wanted the item or did he want to send it back... he eventually got his hand in his pocket and paid for the bloody thing.

Then some registered blind guy phoned up asking me to get someone to bring the surcharge item to his house so he could pay us as he couldn't get to us. I advised him I had no one available to go. He said "but there are people there, I can hear their voices". I said yes, there are people here but they're waiting to go out on their collections which are now 15 minutes late and they still don't have vans to go do them. Also they're not meant to divert from their collection route as specified in the security rules etc. He said "you're not being very helpful" at which point I switched off and lost interest. He then arrived at the office about 20 minutes later after his wife had driven him there...

Then one of the collections guys decided to cut off to time and because he was late going out, he didn't go to 8 boxes. Another guy got fed up of waiting for the transit van to arrive back so he could take the mail to the next local D.O. to go to the M.C. so he cut off too. So I had 8 boxes not scanned, no one to take the mail to the D.O., no van to take the mail to the D.O., all my own work to do...

So, I left 5 minutes late and left the rest of the work for the people to do on Monday seeing as they've left early every day this week and left me to do their work. Balls to em.
