NEARLY 2 YEARS AGO I SAID THIS AS THE STRIKES STARTED

Post by TrueBlueTerrier »

---- and its scary how much has actually happened.
My feeling is that if C&L win this the union will be a thing of the past and more like a discussion group.

2 Posties on neighbouring frames will be on completely different pay rates and terms and conditions, and probably won't know each others first names.

Out of an office of 30 there will be 5 full timers expected to prep all the walks for the Sub Part timers on less than 20 hours (10 in total) and then complete a 4.5hr walk at a fixed rate with no OT. (I mean your paid a flat rate to do your duty no matter how long it takes). But if you finish before your contracted time of 5.00pm you have to come back into the office to get packets out.

The 15 part timers arrive at 11.00 have 1 hour to throw off their walks and 4hrs to complete it but they have no M/R built in as their working day is too short to get it in the contract.

The sub part-timers collect their bags actually on the delivery and have 4 hrs to complete again with no MR.

Also because of cheap DSA and the 10 D2Ds they have to do, the bag matrix has changed and the recommended maximum 1st bag is 22kgs. The high capacity electric trolleys were ordered 6 years ago but Royal Mail cant afford to get them for every walk as all mail is now DSA except for social mail.

Is this beyond the bounds of possibility.

:nana No, this is the way things ARE going, more or less--going slightly further. there may come a time, as in other countries, where most people have to pick up their mail from post offices,
