Uniform

Post by Stormproof »

Ordered a new fleece last week, it came through today. I've just opened the bag to find the worse quality uniform I've ever seen, more like blue grey, with navy patches and really thin, think I'll send it back, would rather not wear one if I'm going to look like a tramp in it.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Apart from the RM shirts, I prefer to buy my own gear now.
I buy Craghopper trousers from TK Maxx - £16 or £20 for the
'zip-off' ones that can be changed into shorts - half the price
they sell at in outdoor shops, and Berghaus fleeces from Milletts
online - I've just ordered two, first at £30 (reduced from £40)
and the second at half that £15, plus £5 postage.

Its meant to be old issue, was dreading being the 1st in my office to get the new red fleece, but going on the state of the old blue ones wish they had sent a red one now. Have decided to return it tomorrow.

The old fleeces were quite good, except that they could have done with inner pockets.
But I don't like wearing clothing which identifies me as a postal worker on my journeys
to and from work, since the service has gone downhill and the public regard for posties
has gone.
Thanks :lfo :cfo

Yep i wanted one but could not get it was very disappointed :cry well not that but well p*ssed off just a pocket on the front was all that was needed to make it the best bit of kit since the old long jacket with the quilted interior.

I got one last week and agree with all you say. I think I could put my finger through it with a little force, cheap and nasty rubbish.

When are the new uniforms being issued anyway?

talking of hi-vis, i could swear someone on the till at asda was wearing one... :cuppa i seen shelf stackers wearing them on the store floor.. can understand the safety aspect while in a warehouse where a forklift maybe floating about, but in shopping aisle is just taking these freakin things just too far. trolley collectors have to wear them in carpark which is another point. but why the fek inside the store?

another story i've heard is that in france, ordinary car drivers have to wear hi-vis at all times... have to check that one out rofL. wont be long til its over here tut..
and here comes avi cohen! oh i say! at the same end, he's got one back!!

French police may enjoy a windfall from Wednesday onwards as laws requiring reflective jackets and warning triangles in cars become enforceable with fines, the AA warns.

This comes at the end of a month when an Italian municipality searched its road offences records and harvested fines from UK drivers dating as far back as June 2007.

Persistent reports of gendarmes inspecting cars and ticking off a list of required safety equipment items have continued to filter through to the AA this summer.

On Wednesday 1 October, drivers in France who are not carrying a reflective jacket or a warning triangle may be fined on the spot €90 – €135.

whilst working at tesco's some years ago it was common place for staff to be trained all positions as it was a small store quite often there work be only two people working the tills as deliverys came in. If it got busy the boss would take people straight of delivery duties to work the tills until either the customers have gone or the deliveries have cleared. hence we would quite often work the tills whilst wearing hi-vis jackets. wethe of not these rules have changed now I can't say but I would'nt put it past them
Cheers, Dodgedr007

My opinion is just that.
