I see a whole gamut of proposals for D2D. Lets step back and look at the situation as it is: under the current agreement the prep and delivery of D2D is included in the 3.5 delivery span so adding to the D2D workload unless there is a massive increase is not going to increase the workload significantly. It is a telling statement to say we can no longer afford to turn away work - fine if it is an equal work load.
The workload incidentally only affects delivery staff whose delivery span is proposed to be now on a sliding scale "agreed locally but under national guidelines", I did notice a passing mention of a reduced working week - it strikes me that this new delivery model does two things - panders to the masses and looks like it is tailored to RMs needs.
There wasn't any mention of the role a third party might have in the event of privatisation.
