Alt/York containers question

Post by Bouncing Souls »

Do TNT/DHL use RM alts when bringing the mail in to MCs? or do they have their own?
Only asking as i go to a few mail houses and they are full of Royal Mail Alts/Yorks, do RM charge them a rental or do they just get to use them for free, if so why?
Is this part of the 'downstream access' agreement?
There must be thousands of pounds worth of RM rolling stock lying around in other mail carriers depots, and yet seemingly getting to use it for nothing.
If RM do have a charge could you let me know as no-one i have asked about this seems to know

I seem to remember an article in the Courier two or three months
ago which asked people to phone in and report firms that had RM equipment,
so that they could get them back. Apparently they had to threaten to take
Business Post or City Post to court before they agreed to return Yorks
worth thousands of pounds.

Wasn't there something in the courier about the yorks,or maybe an LTB.
TNT/DHL ect yorks are not allowed in our system/pipeline.

As for our yorks and other equipment, there all over the place like you say!

Edit:Posted while baldrick was posting,i rem that article.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Whenever i've seen TNT etc unloading at the MC they've had to load the stuff into yorks on the ramp.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
