Recently though i've had a bit more time on my hands so i've started to browse the site again. One thing that is blatantly obvious is that site whilse still a very useful tool is no longer a vibrant as it once was.
Threads seem to be constantly side tracked and general moaning seems to be the biggest theme. We all know that things are harder than ever for us but what we need now more than ever is collective spirit.
In my area the branch are running excellent campaigns on do the job properly, keep the post public and say no to cuts.
These are the big issues yet we are all bogged down on here with the 'he said, she said' mentality.
I used to be able to look at the title of a thread and get involved in a good debate right away. The titles and comments are so negative now that I cant't even be bothered to join in.
Lets get back to where we were in 2007. I see many of the old posters are still on here. The CWU have been heavily criticised for a variety of issues and rightly so. At this point in time though politically our union is excelling in the fight against Privatisation.
We have both the Divisional Rep and NEC elections coming up. Lets not give it the 'things will never change' attitude. Lets get a RMC slate for the candidates we should support in these elections. Lets debate names, get candidates on here if we can then vote for them en mass. If coordinated properly this forum could become the force it once was.
As we stand we are just falling right in the trap RM have set for us - Divide and Conquer.
Anyway its good to be back, I look forward to some healthy dicsussions with some old friends and new.
