Well I'm afraid that it get's on my gall, when branches send out literature implying to their branch membership who they should vote for. It's a DEMOCRACY aren't we as individual branch members able to distinguish the wheat from the chaffe, in coming to reach an informed personal decision on who we should vote for.

No disrespect intended to the three names mentioned as I am sure they represent their members well, but it's meant to be a free ballot vote without outside or inside influence.

But most ordinary members don't know much if anything about candidates
who are not from their office, and rely on recommendations from their
Branches who are more knowledgable about what these people have done
and how they are likely to perform.

Was speaking to my Area rep up here today and he said the NE DIv Reps think very highly of Webb.

I agree about the balloting but the fact is that branches put out recommendations for national/divisional elections. When the figures are broken down the facts show that members follow the Branch recommendations. After all they are only recommendations so you are still free to vote however you want.

To be fair if I dont know somebody i'll always ask my local /area rep as they may have come across them in person. Anyone can write a decent election adress to impress members (or get someone to write it for them)!!! I feel my vote is a far more educated one if I am given guidance from representatives I trust!

I would recommend Chris Webb without a shadow of doubt.When we had strikes last time,he was awesome even sleeping in his tent on the picket line.Also any problems that you may have, he will endeavour to sort the situation out.Which is what we all need,more so now than ever.I do not have any connection with anyone hoping to be voted in.Just my honest humble opinion

Probably because the Union has strict campaigning rules! Their election addresses will come out with the ballot papers plus any decent candidate will be putting literature out to members which i'm sure will find its way onto here!!!

Andy Nash knows what he is talking about and has saved many jobs within the southwest region. He has unlimited knowledge of working practices and conditions, often using Royal Mail's own rules/regs against themselves.

All he needs is a decent hair-cut!
