i have been a posty for 15 years now and done every aspect of the job,i now do a rural driving in the hills its very picturesque but one piece of advice from me would be,dont listen to the managers your fellow workers will put you on the right track, the managers know nothing about the job anymore.ps im afraid spicy nik naks are the king of crisps.

should state in your contract what the rate of pay is, tho the amount is based on 40 hours so you just divide by 40 and times by your hours to get amount you be paid. usually its weekly pay. I got my contract thru post other day and i start on 22nd in sheffield. tho i never went to interview, just applied online and then got call offering me the job. which is weird as had to have interview for postal job despite only just leaving a postal job few months prior in grimsby lol
Hi Guys, I also just started with royal mail...I'm a bit confused about the rotating day off!!! 1st week I was off on Wednesday, 2nd week off on Thursday, 3rd week off on Friday. 4th week off on MONDAY...??? 5th week off on Monday...??? when I asked why I didn't get off on Satauday on week 4 I was told that because I'm on a "temporary contract (5 months 20 hours a week) I wont be getting any Saturday off!!! I checked the job description and it states hours of work 10am to 2 pm Monday to Saturday with a rotating day off...not rotating day off between Monday and Friday...Anyone have any ideas what the right way is???
