None of this crap goes on in our office, but as for a manager refusing to pay you for delivering D2D's, who IS getting paid for it ? The claim sheets have to be submitted by someone, to show they've been delivered.mosaddler wrote:slightly off topic
the following has happened to me recently.
a few weeks back i only did around 30% d2d and no other mail/packets etc and manager paid me d2d.
a few days ago i was in a similar position and was told by another manager that as i am only doing d2d and no other mail/packets i wont be paid any extra for d2d. as it stood i was put on another walk as somebody was absent.
is this right?
if there is no other mail to deliver and am only doing d2d how many % do i have to clear?

Re: what is the official rule
Well i've just fired off an email to CWU HQ asking them to put the agreed standard for the delivery of these items in a LTB. If they can do that, then we'll have something to pin up for ALL to see. Mind you, don't hold your breath .......

Re: what is the official rule
We really need some official word from the union on this.
I've gone in the office with my printed out agreement and i've come out with my tail between my legs.I was blinded by talk of flexibility agreements, memo's and directives.
I'm no legal expert and can't argue the toss because some bloke on the internet gave me a link to some 1994 agreement. All the office have buckled also and gone"hmm maybe he's right"
Apparently its been a hot topic locally and some local manager has spoken to high up union and this d2d agreement although being the last one signed is no longer valid with the unions agreement.
I said "well its the current d2d agreement, surely it can't be changed without being ammended etc" and my gaffer said i was right but his gaffer has said the agreement no longer stands and its out dated and should really be changed.
Now i can't call anyone a liar and this printed off agreement is useless to me unless i have written proof from some high up union rep.
If i carry on my one man crusade,i could end up with egg on my face.
Office rep isn't bothered. The rep he deals with thinks its a bit trivial and doesn't seem to know the rules either.
If we could get some written advise to each office regarding this subject it would put a stop to all the unrest once and for all.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Suggest the next time that you are in with DOM is he (his boss) by that same criteria then saying that the Healh and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 is also out dated and should be changed?

My first reaction is, if RM pay us to deliver D2D's why on earth should they be done in our time. Your managers a arsehole. Typical untrained tosser. :mforowdogg wrote:thanks guys, just manager said prepping of d2d has to be done in own time. he'll argue black is white, hes one of those

Trouble is the average postman doesn't know every rule in royal mail and unless he is an expert on law he will get baffled by the manager and told that he is wrong.
Until the union give some official word we have to respect the managers decision.
Getting this official word is pretty difficult.

Respect the managers, sorry my friend you seem to have got the wrong end of the stick. I hope you are in the trade union because basic knowledge of the workings of Royal Mail are the for front of what we stand for. Intimidation is not accepted, this is not to say that blantant ignorance from our part is acceptable either. know the rules about your employement. Re: what is the official rule
All i know is that i went in and said my bit, showed agreement etc and i didn't get any joy.
I'm not a great arguer(if thats a word :))
But i tried and failed and was told that unless i had backing from the union i had to accept what he said was right.
So i am trying to get union backing but it is quite hard as no one seems to know anything except the link to this old agreement.

Re: what is the official rule
Look the official rule is 20% of your weekly door 2 door items per day, Thats It.
i.e if you have 500 delivery points on your delivery duty then you are expected "within the rules" to deliver 100 delivery point door 2 door items per day. ok
any other grief and agro you recieve from managers fill in a grievance and bullying and harassment forms.
sleep well and panic none.
