Photo ID Cards
I read in the courier a month ago about a chap that has not been issued with his ID card yet. IB wrote the reply and asked them to get in touch as he should have had it a few months after he started.
Now after 15 months (and have given up asking the line manager) I still have not been issued with a swipe/ID card (needed to actually get IN the sorting office). If I contact IB then my Manager will know its me and I fear for the future.
How important are these ID cards and will the Manager get a bollocking for not arranging it? Anyone else waiting this long?

Mine is in my locker, that way it's always there if someone wants to see it.
BTW I only got mine about a year ago after only 6 years

In our office, everyone has a photograph of the 'managers' right eye on the card where their mugshot should be.

Re: Photo ID Cards
We all had them about a year ago. Wearing them didn't last a month ! Local manager's have never enforced the wearing of these ID badges, and everybody here just considers it another waste of money. I still wear mine, albeit backwards, so it shows my name and not my photograph.

Re: Photo ID Cards
Most people in our office were issued with them quite a while back; had it round my neck the first week after it was issued - with the card tucked in the shirt pocket as it kept getting in the way.. Never bothered after that and nobody has ever said anything about it, I keep it handy, just in case someone wants to look!

How things have changed, used to get disciplined if your badge was'nt worn and fined if you lost it.

Re: Photo ID Cards
Use mine with the name bit showing and also scan the barcode to program the PDA when I use them. Saves typing in the name as mine is a bloody long one.

Re: Photo ID Cards
Ive been in the job for about 8 months now. I still havent got one. I think someone must have asked about them one day just before xmas, as they came round taking photos of everyone. Its been another 4 months but still not seen any hint of an ID card.
Nobody in our place wears them anyway. Its a bit slack there tbh. Even on my days off, wearing jeans and a t-shirt im allowed to just wonder in and start sorting through my D2D's at my frame. Noone ever challenges me!
