Re: OT for walks
we used to get 4 hours for half a walk
what you 'should' get is how long it takes ,anything over that is a bonus
we havent had OT in our DO for yonks
all covered by lapsing/part timers

Re: OT for walks
The OT should only be for what you've actually worked but if they're really desperate then I'm sure you can negotiate more.

Re: OT for walks
Thats a pretty good exchange rate there, better than we get. For 1/2 a walk, even Saturdays, we get 2 hrs and 15 mins travelling time if the walks are not adjacent.teruah wrote:what should you get paid for doing an extra 1/2 a walk, in our office it's 2.5 hrs plus .5 hr travel weekdays and 3 hrs and .5 hr travel on Saturdays, but i here its more at other DO's

Re: OT for walks
We used to get 8 hours for a walk, now its been reduced to 6 and days off reduced to 7 (no IPS).
In our office if a walk is down someone gets lapsed off IPS to prep it, they don't get paid OT for this and nor should they. I have had OT for prepping walks before but I would still do IPS and prep it after my own walk before I go out.redpin wrote:the real money to be made is the prep, theres a kid at out office who does this every day almost and gets paid 4 hours for something he does when everyones IPS'ing. i wish i knew more walks :( = easy overtime money

Negoatian!!!
As some one who has done lots o/t,depends upon supply and demand. How much O/t their is against how many people wanting it,thats a good starting point.More people want the O/t you cant name your price, desperate managers you can name your price within reason.

Re: OT for walks
A lot of my colleagues don't do the IPS anymore, they throw 2 walks out while the rest of us do IPS, this leads to an unfair advantage on those that do IPS, they're up and out the door quicker than those that have to do the IPS

Re: OT for walks
oh yes! if you decide to work your day off, for the past month the managers have said you have to come in at 8:30am instead of our normal time of 5:45am, we also have to do IPS on day off as well. Theres also alot of people off sick in our office and on holiday, so managers are struggling.
