Yes, the IWW and other unions such as the CNT certainly have the reformist unions sussed. Mind you, I'm not sure they can be described as reformist any more since they don't seem to be reforming anything these days.
As for our friend, I think the best approach is the one adopted by anti-fascist groups since the 1970s: No Platform.

I know who I'd call on if the need arose, and it wouldn't be those syndicalist navel-gazers..

"Screw"? Always good to fall back on a little abuse when the going gets tough I suppose, but isn't this supposed to be the new PC RMC site?

Well then use the report feature and it would alert us to it.

The moderation team can't be expected to read very single post can it and members help us out when they use the report feature.

However I do note that you comment about the "Screw" part yet you are dismissive of another's opinions "navel-gazers". Still ignoring my earlier requests to stop it, I thought if I stayed silent on this for a while you would stop but I can see its :arrrghhh

Wrong. Its the IWW who do the navel-gazing rather than the poster, but be that as it may, "dismissing other's opinions" means these semi-naughty little words are OK then?

That's good to know. :hmmmm

That's a little disingenuous, Tman. You deride the IWW, but the poster is also named IWW.

You call him a navel-gazer, he calls you a screw. How old are you both ?

guys , take time out and sign this, little as it is it may make a difference.

Peter Mandelson has suggested that there is no alternative to his part-privatisation plan for Royal Mail. His spin rests on a report by a Government boffin.

The report told Mandelson what he wanted to hear. But the evidence didn't back up its conclusions. It didn't compare like with like. The foreign companies the report cited make their profit by providing a poorer service, lower wages and charging higher prices.

This isn't what we want for our Royal Mail. We don't have the Government's army of spin doctors - but we do have you. Sign our petition and send the Government a message that you want to keep the post public.

The campaign group Compass have published a damning expose of the Government's report. They have shown that the claims used to support the privatisation plan are flawed.

Of course, the Royal Mail does need reform. But it needs to be modernised, not privatised.

We can stop that happening by working together - please sign the petition now.

http://post.cwu.org/notforsale" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Let's not forget that this Labour Government promised to keep the post public in their own election manifesto.

Thousands of people have already signed our petition. Please join them - and make sure that we keep the Royal Mail as the public service we need and deserve.

Thank you,

Hardly disingenuous. I really don't think the poster here decides or writes IWW policy (although being the little club that it is, I could be wrong :whistle ) so wasn't it obvious which of the two I was referring to?
You call him a navel-gazer, he calls you a screw. How old are you both ?
Old enough to shoot the breeze with other RM staff, but too old to get upset about any of it (although I don't know how "young" you'd have to be to squeal the old "I'm ignoring you" business....about eight, maybe? :chuckle )

Well Teebs, if it walks like a duck and quacks........etc. As for being refered to as a 'navel gazer', it's hardly likely to keep me awake at night and it's not as if Tory Boy knows me personally. Let him get on with it along with his defence of hospital and school closures, illegal wars, racism and the rest of the fruits of the capitalist system he champions.

See above. You may think of yourself as a navel-gazer, but it was the character and ethos of the IWW I was referring to. Seems like the rather egotistical act of using the same screen name as your chosen bellwether caused the problem here.

You're making it up as you go along now, aren't you? Unless you can point me to posts saying such....?
