It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Quite simple really. They keep putting bar code strips on the front of the flat. Ok they peel off but when you are sorting them to a walk we don't deliver by post code!!!!!! So we then have to peel them off and stick them to the frame or wall which ever is closest!!!! :d'oh! :hmmmm

I assume the letter would have been put through an FSM at the MC where it was posted and not necessarily at your feeder MC. Our feeder MC doesn't have an FSM but we still get flats with the stickers (not walksorted, all our flats are manual).

They do come from a T2K flat machine. The machine puts the label at the same position on each letter so if they are across the address that is just down to where the address bar is on the envelope. Not much can be done about it other than put the letters in upside down in the first place but if you had to face them all before putting them through the machine then it kind of defeats the point of automation!

ermm the fact that we have to spend and waste time taking the poxy stickers off so we can see the address kind of defeats the point of automation

That is correct, they are not compatible which is a massive oversight by whoever planned and signed up for these machines.

The Tops 2k in Glasgow is a bag of bolts as well, out for an hour or two at any
given time on any given shift, management try to blame engineers instead of
addressing the real problem of what is fed into the machine......if you put
sh..e in you get sh..e out and they dont hold back putting crap into it despite
what they were told when the machine was installed but hey they have to
the figures up :d'oh! :d'oh!
