Amazing  So you know for a fact that a profit driven enterprise was willing to fork out more for a temporary workforce and then add the agency cut on top to make it even more expensive. To cap it all the taxpayer subsidizes these higher earners .
Altruism is alive and well :chuckle What a crock of shite :chuckle

Also standard issue for ditch-diggers. Still think its funny - describes those 'crawl out of the woodwork' leeches well.

:hmmmm you didn't really mean to label manual workers as blood sucking parasites did you? I mean given the fact that Nige and Peregrine and the rest of the masters of the universe have just come 'cap' in hand for £500 billion of us taxpayers cash that would be a bit rich :chuckle

"TrueBlueTerrier"]You feel the sympathy flowing can't you  .

Hey Tricky, why bring it down to a personal level?

The thing with the car workers is not that they were dismissed but how they were.
Cobblers. A bunch of flowers and a "Goodbye" card would have made unemployment acceptable then, would it? :arrrghhh

Course not but you taking my comment out of context and denigrating it with such a comment adds nothing to your position does it.

It wasn't meant to. It was just highlighting the daft assertion that it was how the dismissals were carried out that was the problem, and not the dismissals themselves. Hardly "out of context" either, as you can see above.

The point is, that finding out at the end of your final shift, gives you NO CHANCE OF MAKING APPROPRIATE PLANS. A week, or at least a couple of days, gives you a chance to get on to the Agency about getting another position. There may not be any at the time. But the sooner they find out you need one, the sooner you'll get whatever becomes available. Even a few days less on the Dole makes a big difference to your self esteem, and the financial burden on other Taxpayers. :hmmmm

It's the total lack of consideration for the PEOPLE who are working for them (albeit via an Agency). They were treated like a commodity, rather than a group of people. :hmmmm

Building Trade is famous for " the lump " , when the place were I had to misfortune to work at , was being built , a lot of the lads downed tools every other Monday to sign on . It was rife during the Builder's Strike in 1974 , most of those true blue big companies knew it and encouraged it .

It wasn't stamped on from a great height for nothing , what with the Shrewsbury 3 or 4 etc .

Everyone has a friend of a friend etc who can tell stories . With the Social , it's more putting adverts on the telly to put the sh*** up people , the reality is that it costs money to chase these people and it's deemed better to chase the real p*** takers , like the blokes missus who was on IB , but was acting as a builder's labourer . The Black Economy will always exist - big deal

Surely you're not advocating standards now. That would be funnier still.

Or is it a difficulty in handling the fact that some see the duffel coated socialist workers as just plain amusing. Fail to see where 'the working man' and the SWs can be confused in the same breath. The fact they're able to turn up at a moments notice would illustrate quite clearly whether they work or not.

Come to think of it, in 40 odd years I've only ever met one working SW - rest stay at home watching bargain hunt or Jeremy Kyle until the call comes to man a brazier at some picket line they've never heard of. Next it'll be 'but at least we had our heads held high' and other such self-indulgent and pointless cliches. Standards? Pah! And funnier still if such a standard, if it existed, was based on Mr Agent's own.

what is funny is your posts, the SWP has a layer of people that are paid an average wage to work for the party , no different to any other party. these are the people that you may see on picket lines or on demos etc. there are several SWP members in our office , some are Reps who again you would see on the picket line etc. point to note-- none of them wear DUFFEL COATS.

It does seem as if you think just because someone wears a duffel coat they are of a lower class that yourself ? or is it just because they have a self belief and wont be pushed around by the likes of what you stand for
