I would like to ask whether all 180000 employees have been posted the PREFERENCE EXERCISE for VOLUNTARY REDUNDANCY or are Royal Mail just targetting the Thorns in there side?

end result was very few people got Redudancies, and people who had been led to believe they weregetting but downs, ended up with nothing. During this period of course, there was a culling of the usual, long term sick ets, and all of a sudden there was no NEED for pay offs, etc. Beware the Greeks bearing gifts I say.

Re: EVR
Am I missing something? I've not seen or heard any official announcement about EVR. Yes I read the Daily Mirror article and Royal Mail's denial that there is any truth to it other than savings will be met from overheads. Clearly there will be cuts downstream when walk sequencing machines come in. In the meantime my guess is that savings will be met by replacing full time staff with part timers as and when they leave. Is EVR really on the menu for delivery postmen?

Re: EVR
I filled in the preference form this morning, ticked both EVR & Buy down boxes, I don't intend going anywhere but would like to see how much I'm worth to RM. I asked the DOM support re DOM's intray for them, he pointed to a huge pile of completed forms, looks like the whole office has filled one in
