how long do the new posties last

as a newbie myself i do sometimes feel quiting as the lack of training/help/advice etc.

i dont have a fix round and the do i work at covers over 50 different rounds.
if im given a new round to do and theres no information on what to expect i do feel let down.
a couple of time i have finished as late as 6pm that was during the first couple of weeks when i started.

Make sure you tell your manager before you go out that you'll be unable to complete and leave the decision about what to do to them.

WPC is an RM position not CWU and as such you will get good with bad (Looking at my office more bad than good!) It was and is about cash for the coach and lets face it the cash for WPC is good and the flyers and creeps tend to get it . That is not to say they are all bad cause they aint and i would lay money we have some good ones on RMC! So sorry to ALL good ones here and in our offices! But if you were RM who would you employ for the job? Someone who does the job properly or a creep/flyer that cuts EVERY corner going? Balls if i was :lfo :cfo it would be the creep/ flyer every time knowing another nail was in the coffin! AGAIN SORRY TO ALL GOOD WPCs.

full-timers as in new full-timers or ones who have been working at your do for long period?

intresting non the less.
new starters i reckon should be on part-time contracts like myself.
me being new to the job it does help working wed-sat starting at 9am.the body and mind has sufficent time to recover.
asking a newbie to work full-time hours i guess would be very stressful.

I got one days "training" on monday. It was by a young kid who told me doorstepping was alright, riding the bike with no helmet etc was all cool, so on and so forth. Tuesday I was out on my own, wednesday I was out on my own on a brand new walk... I've made it to the end of the week though, and from tomorrow I will be sorting my own frame! Basically making it up as I go along...... What's a WPC???

I am a work place coach, I am one of two in our office. The coaching we do helps for normally the three months, and then when they are moved, some just collapse due to the move to a new unfamilliar duty. I would like to see all coaches given more time to spend with the new entrants, but RM/ managers just will not release us from our duties for this. We are meant to do a 12 week assessment on the new entrant and one after 3 months, again we are not given the time. walks are never boxed in for them, they are pressured, although I try to be their voice in regards to informing management that they need to leave mail etc. They are bullied by management because they are easy prey, and management know they won't rock the boat. I can only advise them what they can do , but they are normally too afriad to take it further.
Such is the company that we work for, I have recently reported 2 managers for bullying and harrassing me, I have been with RM for 7 years, what chance have the new entrants.

I took E.V.R last April after 18 years service and reading these posts has really made me realise how much the job has changed. When I started I was assigned a walkman and then did his walk with him for two weeks being trained on all aspects of the proper way to deliver. For his trouble the walkman received £20 a week extra, and on the last Saturday I did the delivery alone and he got a free day off. Granted,afterwards I got a different delivery everyday for months on end but at least I knew what was going on!!

i must be the only one then who has a good experience since signing up, or it could be the fact im working in a london depo/branch. i spent like 2 weeks "training" before being on my own, but i guess at the time they werent deseperate for staff ;o 4 months since joining, as a reserve, ive only had to learn 3 walks in total and the hardest 1 i did for just a week
