Re: Royal Mail Shoes
I wore my own shoes for the 1st 12 months of my employment and never slipped, got blisters or wet feet and one pair lasted a good 10 months. Then my DOM forced me to wear RM shoes, since then I have slipped on numerous occasions had blisters and had 8 pairs in as many months. I hate to think how much that is costing RM each time I order new ones. I will soon be on pair number 9 give or take a week.

Re: Royal Mail Shoes
The so called improved version of magnums are costing RM a extra tenner per pair compared to the old version.

Re: Royal Mail Shoes
the ones before the magnums (were they DM's? ) - one pair of those lasted me 2 YEARS
No not DM's but a kind of cheaper sub. Mine were great i got 18 months out of them they were grippy and lighter than DM's. I remember RM supplying proper Doc Martin shoes years ago which were really good
But they then changed to a cheaper version of DM's and you could never really break in without plenty of painful blisters
The best shoes i ever had from RM were made by Clarks they were really comfy almost like slippers but wore out quickly. It seems all we are getting is utter rubbish now

Re: Royal Mail Shoes
Well they are supposed to be trialled by posties prior to acceptance and issue - so who do we blame?
I'm trialling a very cheap alternative at the moment - it's a brush, a tin of black Cherry Blossom and you just blacken your bare feet, extremely waterproof - very cheap for some people.

I got a pair of the new version of the Magnums recently. Although they are still very poorly put together, they do have vastly improved grip to the old ones. I wonder if they'll last more than a month or two.
Having said that. I have the magnum Safety Boots, not the standard ones. Has anyone noticed an improvement in the Magnums that you have on Deliveries?

Afraid that I haven't got the bottle to ask for a pair of these

Just to remind you of http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 15#p141081, just check the shoes and see if they've undergone testing to the required standard!

The new magnum version is definitely better in terms of grip, don't no about how long they will last as have only used them today.andy2007 wrote:Yes, the ones before the Magnums, were Doc Martins.krussel wrote:the ones before the magnums (were they DM's? ) - one pair of those lasted me 2 YEARS
