ROMEC engineers (building services, etc) are entirely seperate from RME engineers, who work on RM automation.

Yep. RME are still "in-house" , RoMEC is jointly owned by Royal Mail and (Balfour Beatty??) and is a completely seperate company from RM. No doubt the 49% of RoMEC will be sold shortly.

How many offices that have the packet machine, sorts two mini-yorks side by side?

Bristol afternoon shift are forcing people to sort two mini-yorks side by side. You have ardley enough room to swing a cat!
Surely H&S risk assessment and safe system of working should be used here?

Any H&S Reps wanna shed some light on this before i ram a mini-york up shrek and mini-hitlers arse?

Health & Safety at work is, along with a proper risk assessment and a safe system of work.

There is no national agreement for a sorting rate on a packet machine, but bully boy manager is using two yorks "To see who is working and who isnt" tactics.

This needs sorting now!

Also, operatives need to be fully and formally trained to work the machine. If you are not, then you shouldn't be on there, unless you want to take the financial consequences of any accident you are involved in while in while working on it.

Training.... now that's an interesting concept. RM training normally consists of "push this to start it, push it again if it jams, push this to stop it and tea break's ten o'clock"

Hmmmmm This from some-one who wanted to be a manager! Who also worked on the packet machine and KNOWS that half the section are NOT trained to use the machine!

What exactly did/ will YOU do to stop untrained people from working on the packet machine?

What exactly are YOU doing to stop the big bully boy manager from puching two yorks onto people to sort, knowing that no other shift does this?

What exactley are you going to do..... Ahhhh forget it! I will find a real safety rep to sort this out!
