Same story with the one o clock specials with the townies when i mentioned this to the DOM when we were moving towards starting an hour later he told me that Royal Mail don't give a damn.

Early delivery for households and business ,Definitely Guaranteed 9 AND 13.00 Special Delivery and if you pay first class for your packet it will be treated as first class and delivered as soon as it reaches despatch.

So, Phone in if you cannot deliver specials--it is impossible to get anyone to answer the phone in our office, it
always has been---it is so frustrating when you make several attempts to get through, and you can't. Maybe the Manageres
should be subject to disciplinary action for failing to make it possible for us to do our jobs--

Never refuse a reasonable request.

Always cut off or claim if asked to complete a reasonable request that takes you over your hours. Its that simple.

Royal Mails biggest problem is they cant force you to do overtime.

Just to Clarify SDD states that "this agreement gives the EMPLOYEE the flexibility to plan theiur break"! Also says that the agreement gives the employee the option to take part of their break in the office, note the word OPTION, it is not a compulsion! If like us you don't have a canteen facility only a rest room you may choose to take your break around your arrival at a sandwich shop on your round, for example, surely better than stuffing your face with chocolates and crisps from the works vending machine! Also agree with Ricky Bruch, if you have a drink directly before you commence delivery are RM going to ensure a toilet stop when you get out there, not as at the moment a hit and miss affair (Blame H&S rep for this!)

How are the walkers specials signed for? You can't have PDA's so are you still using the paper signing thing then?

I've been on a bike all week and we are still using paper signing cards for recordeds and specials.

I've delivered SDs beyond 1pm before now, never been pulled for it (yet). If you say owt they just tell us to go round and deliver them first - they obviously think we have time for this silly behaviour.

As for confirming / phoning in.. I would but I don't have access to a public phone box and I don't wish to use my phone at my expense! So it's tough sh.., I've had manager sitting me down and explaining the process to me but what can you do when the place is run by incompetent fools

First day of exec action, and it was pretty much like any normal day. When the dom said to me and others last week, that no one will be leaving the office till 10:15...today people were leaving way before that time. The reasoning when i asked, why are some going out before there time? He replied by saying "don't like keeping people back for a long period of time.

For the people that did leave the office early, they keep on thinking that job/finish is still here...when will they understand that its GONE!

One person came back from his duty saying that it wasn't to bad (wait a minute he looked a bit tired, seems to me he was pushing himself). The dom said i see your back 45mins before your time, we'll have to get more work for you! Yeah thats because he never had a break

A few cut off, a few came in early because they didn't really know the duty properly...for the few that don't really know the duty, they need a good smack on the head, or need there brain examined.

It's Royal Fail's problem to sort out if they want to change start times---they have to adjust special delivery times to coincide.
Quite straight forward. It is not fair to threaten discipline for a problem they created ffs!

ah remember Royal Mail Management think we all buggar off home at 11.30am so it won't have crossed thier little minds that a one o'clock deadline for special delivery might be an issue. It's only common sense that special delivery cut off times should be changed to 3pm ( just incase you're late out or have a mishap along the way) but then Royal Mail don't seem to have any common sense !!!
