A small delivery!

Post by quadeck »

Today for the first time I did a tiny deilvery, without knowing the area and without a map. I managed to do it in 1 hours 50 minutes and it wasn't the lighest of days. But why is there person on a 40 hour full time contract on such a small delivery, only 240 calls. Then a person on a 25 hour contract is doing the big deliveries 4+ hours, with 700 calls. The full time worker finishes 2+ hours early most days and gets paid for it. The part timer has to fight to get the money they deserve.

Shouldn't be on delivery with a DDA - especially on 40 hours - there should be provision made by agreement with the CWU for a suitable duty - all deliveries should be 3.5.

I`m on DDA and do a full delivery thank you very much. :wave
We all know they are supposed to be 3.5hrs but even after we`ve had geo route in since last June theres still half a dozen easy walks in our office mainly covered by the ahhemm oldies. :shhhhh
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

If a delivery is deliberately tailored down to a DDA level then there is something wrong with the system - and if deliveries are less than the 3.5 hours then they should be re aligned.
