What is everyones office like. How does it run?
We have about 130 staff, up to 7 managers !
Budget blown through the roof, part timers earning more than any full timer, dble prepping walks every single day.
Some days we have 3 folk sorting, 4 on the flats and 2-3 on packets lol.
Managers prepping walks.
Skivers galore, 6 folk i havent seen for about a year.(stress and high blood pressure is a terrible thing- the new backache)
People who leave, vacancies never filled.
Morale at rock bottom
Managers spying in cars,(managers) outsiders coming in on days off to deliver light bulbs which have been siting about for over 6 months.
And thats the good points!

Re: shambolic affair,
Your issue in your office is one of many that is affected, but trust me this year royal mail will cut back on staff. Its an on going problem that can't go on for to long as they will lose more money within the business if it may continue. They will try and introduce longer deliverys thus slashing back on staff (giving them v.r), or the alternative is using geo route to plan out a 3.5hr walk to maximise work both in and outdoors. Watch this space, it will happen all over the board.

Re: shambolic affair,
I can identify with some of the points you've raised but I have to be honest and say your office does actually sound worse than ours - and I am amazed.shimmyrule wrote:What is everyones office like. How does it run?

Re: shambolic affair,
Sounds all too familiar.. Our office runs as well as the current government
Today we had 4 or 5 on IPS (people come and go as he who must be obeyed has people prepping walks and then not and then and then not etc), 1 or 2 on packets usually..
For a fair chunk of Mondays IPS we had 3 sorting mail, 2 on packets and a manager trying to prep a walk!
Managers prepping is usually the newer ones keen to brown-nose, those that have been there longer tend to try and lean on and push us around to get the work done.
A couple of times in the past we've been on IPS in small numbers and spent far too long on it, lots of people prepping walks but with a couple of walks not even touched before we were due to go out.. Ahh quality of service, whatever happpened to that :cfo
They are now planning a re-revision of walks to lose a few, just as we've got used to sorting - aresholes have no idea what they are doing. And apparently if we don't agree to this s**t revision and all that goes with it the DOM will stop EVR and get rid of staff by booting them when and where he can (I've seen numerous people shafted for sick levels - and not that bad levels, some accident on delivery etc) Good old bully-boy tactics employed as ever - shame not everyone in our office has got balls to stand up to him.

You don't work in Rhyl do you?! lol
We have about 50 rounds I think, the afternoon staff, couple of indoor staff, 1 Line manager and the DOM. Apparently we're £40k overspent this year... Heard that another office near Stoke somewhere was also £40k overspent so is it like a national thing?!
Heart attacks seem to be the in thing in our office. And one guy banned from driving (drink driving charge) and put onto a walking round can't hack it and been off sick with back ache for months.
Does this rag smell of chloroform to you?
