Full time to part time
I'm mulling over dropping from 40 down to 30 hours a week, does anyone know how much less tax you'll pay as i belive theres a thresh hold where if your below it it drops you into a different tax band?

You will pay the same rate of tax, just on less money.
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Yep, there used to be a 10% tax band until Brown did away with it last year. Now you'll be paying 20% on anything up to something like 35k.themaze wrote:I'm mulling over dropping from 40 down to 30 hours a week, does anyone know how much less tax you'll pay as i belive theres a thresh hold where if your below it it drops you into a different tax band?

Didn't it work out that those on less than about £15k were actually worse off with the new tax banding and those earning more weren't really affected? I can't really remember now...

Outrageous stunt'
Mr Clegg told the BBC earlier : "Over five million of the poorest people, it's estimated with incomes between £5,000 and £18,000, are suddenly finding their starting rate of tax is doubling, why?
"So Gordon Brown could offer a 2p cut in the rate from 22p to 20p for the following day's headlines. I think that is an outrageous political stunt at the cost of the poorest in British society."
