I am a part timer . Been in the job a year and a half . I do the occasional back shift collection in my DO .
My manager approached me and asked me if i wanted to goto another DO for 2 months and do a driving duty as someone was taking the 2 months off to do something ( i dont remember what )
I said yes as it would be different and the job was getting me down lately . I was told I would be trained for a week and then out on my own .
Took to it no problem . Early 5 am start so had to put the frame up which i found easy . The manager seeing that I could do it fast then approaches me and says that the duty im on the guy usually sorts the mail then does his own frame and as I cant sort the mail for that office I have 2 options . Go back to part time hours and just do my frame or come in 5am and sort 2 frames .
Some say he is ripping the p*ss outta me and others say he isnt .
Comments would be appreciated .
cheers

If your getting FT hours then you need to do enough work to justify it which in my office is prep/prep for the town duties so, if you have the time them you have to do it (job and finish is gone now you have to work all the hours paid).

Par for the course I'm afraid, thats just bad management, you'l just have to swallow it
Any married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing.

If you doing the duty in a comparable time to the normal duty holder then the mangement need to find some work for you to do instead of IPS. Seems like a lack of forward planning and failure to explain everything fully. Let them find something else for you to do and just do as much as can within your hours.

Don't worry about other people just work your hours and go home (or claim the OT).

Depends how many hours you're getting paid for. Most full time duties have IPS, prep and delivery. The part timers in our office just do prep and delivery and get paid an hour or 2 less a day. If you're getting full time hours, you should be doing full time work.

My normal hours are 25 per week . Doing this is 40 hours so it is full time .
Im not actually complaining as I can handle the work even though its all new to me , it was just some people thought I was being treated unfairly .
Thanks for the comments
