The number of letters being posted is going down but the bags are getting heavier.

What we should be concerned with is the amount of letters per postman. I can fully believe that the amount of letters posted is dropping, but with walks being lopped left right and centre we are each delivering more letters, not to mention packets, mags, catalogues etc etc, as we have more bloody houses to deliver to.

i rang the courier last month and spoke to one of the bods, who said you postman are allways moaning. i then asked him if he ever visited a delivery office and see what goes on and had they heard of investigating journalists which may be a good idea for the courier. first he never been to delivery office full stop,investigation journalist thats not our style. to which i replied i can see that every time i receieve my copy.

I think its great as it goes very well in the cat tray, made for it, fits like a glove. Very absorbent too.

Me too, pal, but I can't make it last a whole month though.

it made me laugh when they advertised breaks in the novmember edition to be taken in december u try getting time off in mid december

i wrote them a sarcastic letter once asking them to explain the reason they were allowing certain companies to advertise great deals for courier readers, when these same companies were using downstream access, effectively taking away revenue from royal mail and potential money away from the workforce whose paper this is !!!(that is sarcasm btw lol)

Oh so your meant to read the Courier I just put it straight in the recycling bag normally along with the CWU mag, the Sky mag and the CSMA mag all unread.

However, IIRC it took about 6 months to a year for me to start getting it when I joined so If you are a new starter I would hang on a bit longer. The wheels of RM bureaucracy turn very slowly indeed.

Best bit was the guy from Hyde questioning the right of appeal over Stage warnings.
A typical responce was gleaned from some pratt...The reason we do not offer right of appeal at the warning stage is that there is no penalty to complain about.

I am researching this as to my mind the act of issuing a warning is a penalty in off itself, especially if as they say all sickness absences are treated as genuine. Anyway it goes against natural justice as the current policy means we have to prove our innocence to avoid a stage warning, rather then them prove guilt or complicity before they can.

sounds if that very thin skinned company drone is splitting hairs and he has been well advised - it also sounds like a wriggle out in a IT ? which is interesting and a tad arrogant - it does sound vague , curious , contradictory and questionable , no surprises there ! - RM have to be very careful when implying negligence and complicity , interesting
