Re: MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT ????????
Is it the re-organisation of the company into "Business Units"? Sounds like they are are pressing ahead even though the partial sell-off is yet to be agreed...
Be interesting to find out what they were discussing.

Dear Colleague
ROYAL MAIL LETTERS SENIOR MANAGEMENT RESTRUCTURING
We have been advised this morning by Royal Mail’s HR Director that Royal Mail will today announce a major restructuring of senior managerial positions in the Letters business.
This will mean that the current territorial structure will no longer exist and the General Manager Area structure will be replaced by 11 regions. The company have explained that the rationale behind this move is to ensure in future there is a more consistent approach across the whole of the Letters business on development and deployment of business strategy. We also understand the restructuring will involve new roles for existing territorial managers.
The Union and Royal Mail has agreed to meet on the 10th and 11th February to discuss all aspects of the company’s mondernisation plan and this will also include more detail on the new arrangements.
Royal Mail has confirmed that these changes will have no impact on the circulation of mail or frontline employees.
Please find attached to this LTB a copy of a letter from Dale Haddon confirming the aforementioned changes.
Yours sincerely

Dear Dave
In advance of our 12 noon announcement and following our telephone call, I would like to give you advance notice of some senior management changes and field restructuring in Operations planned to take effect from the beginning of April.
We will, of course, go through this in more detail when we meet next week.
Essentially the key changes are:
• Field structure will change from 3 Territories and 30 Areas to become 11 Regions aligned to the centre, the latter will be responsible for policy and setting standards.
• The focus for the Regions will be consistent deployment of operational change and performance.
• There will be no change to the management of Mail Centres, Delivery Sector and Delivery Offices and Network operational units as a result of this announcement.
I believe these changes will provide greater focus and clarify accountability moving forward for operational performance and transformation.
Yours sincerely
Dale Haddon

Hi all a small announcement for the new chairmans awards that we are all going to be recieving through the post. In the fight against how the Burslem 12 have been treated how about everyone nominating the Burslem 12 might help their cause.

It'll be interesting to see how closely the new regions match the UK Euro regions, though there are 12 EU regions in the UK including Northern Ireland.

When I saw that 'chairmans award for excellence' thing it made me think of the Simpsons episode where Homer is bought off with the hastily invented 'Monty Burns Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Excellence'monstermash12 wrote:Hi all a small announcement for the new chairmans awards that we are all going to be recieving through the post.
