Has anyone experienced this one?
Our manager asked for “Have your say” survey forms to be completed during worktime learning and hand to him. He would then put them in a hat and draw one out. The lucky winner would get a bottle of wine. He didn’t say anything about him being lucky and discarding the negative survey forms. Or am i being negative?

Re: Have your say survey
The HYS forms are supposed to be confidential so fill them in during work time but put them into the envelope provided and post them (in a post box not in the local area) plus you should put in a grievence against your manager (you could always ask_allan if the this is proper procedure).

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Work place coach, applied twice, we have never had one, how does he get away with that

Our office manager did the same. Made everyone fill them in at WTL, gave everyone a raffle ticket for doing it and the winning ticket got a prize. Also before we filled it in gave us 2 A4 pages with what to put down in our answers. I kid you not. He actually wanted us to put exactly what he wanted in our answers. Guess it was for brownie points for them from there boss

Why on gods earth did they not send the form's in our payslips or was it an exersize in finding out their enemy through their own answers?.celerycelery wrote:Our office manager did the same. Re: Have your say survey
I never really had much time for HYS however we had a real jobs worth DOM a couple of years back who promised us the earth if we "could just do this"
or "help him out here"
you get the idea
. Anyway quite a few people took offence to his attitude
and slaughtered him in the survey with comments. Result:- Well they moved him, just like that.
Of course he was not happy but things ran smoother after.

ours is going to do the same thing this year, a £20 voucher to the winner of the raffle, still told him i am not filling it in, have filled a few in over the years and have yet to see any action taken from the HYS survey, just a pointless exercise, got better things to do with me time thanks, stuff your voucher!

Re: Have your say survey
Every HYS in my office gets worse (we get ours every 6 months) but still nothing is done but I think that may be about to change.

Re: Have your say survey
Sounds to me like a clear case of harassment of the staff. As has been made clear already HYS is strictly confidential, managers IMHO should not be putting any work colleague under duress to fill it in during WTLL session and as for DOM giving 2 A4 pages with pre supplied answers I know where a copy of said supplied answers would be winging it's way to (Old Bond St) if he/she tried it on in my office.k979aaa wrote:Why on gods earth did they not send the form's in our payslips or was it an exersize in finding out their enemy through their own answers?.celerycelery wrote:Our office manager did the same. 1. Confidential
2. Completed during your own time and not as part of WTLL session
3. No completed HYS forms should be returned to the DOM.
4. Post them in a postbox.
5. DOMs also conveniently forget to inform staff that HYS completion is on a voluntary basis if you don't want to fill them in then you are under no obligation to do so even if they imply you must.
6. And if they insist then mark everthing with an X in the boxes to the right!
